CURVE INTERPLAYS
DYMANIC FORM + FIRM - KSP JÃœRGEN ENGEL ARCHITECTS, FRANKFURT + ROLE - DESIGN ARCHITECT DESIGN, MODELLING, PRESENTATION + YEAR - 2017 17
An urban feature of the property with the address Kaistraße 1 is that it is surrounded on all sides by streets and public spaces and approach was to trace the plot layout with a flowing, dynamic building form. The architecture emphasises on the horizontality, projecting and receding ceiling edges. Vertical slats, which are slightly perforated and rotatable, serve as passive sun protection. Like a dynamically curved curtain, they enclose the transparent outer skin and also ensure a strong depth effect on the façade. The floor-to-ceiling, glazed element facade with triple-glazed glazing ensures optimum exposure of the workplaces and immediate external space cover. The elegant façade, together with the open ground floor, creates a distinctive and high-quality address for the tenants in Düsseldorf’s Medienhafen. The timeless architecture stands out from the troubled, partly heterogeneous environment.

XUJIAHUI SPORTS PARK COMPETITION
ARCHITECTURE & URBAN DESIGN + FIRM - ALBERT SPEER & PARTNERS, FRANKFURT, GERMANY + ROLE - DESIGN ARCHITECT RENOVATION DESIGN & MODELLING + YEAR - 2016 21
Xujiahui’s new sports hub shall build Shanghai’s image as a world renowned host for major international events. The design proposal follows a three layered concept: + DRAMA (events) - A dramatic stage for major international sports & entertainment events. + FOCUS (sports) - Opportunities to practice different sports on an individual level. + FLOW (community) - A vibrant new health themed landscape for the general public. Current issues of the complex - it’s unsuitable for high level international competitions, current functions which are unrelated to sports & segmented spaced which are unwelcoming & unclear. The important scope of architecture is to give a facelift (stadium, gymnasium, pool & hotel tower) considering economic & practical aspects.
01 CURRENT SITUATION
+ Lack of aesthetic appeal, failed to integrate with the city, unable to use for international events
02 PROPORSAL - BETTER SPACES & LINKAGES
Stadium -new access ramps & facade Gymnasium - new access stairs & LED mesh facade New commercial spaces supporting sports
Hotel Tower - new facade & balconies
New entry / ticketing centers
+ Improved spectator flow, zones supporting daily urban life & event mode, commercial spaces dedicated for sports
Swimming hall improved facade
03 STADIUM
+ Tracing the edge condition & the existing projections on top of main entry.
+ New articulated ramps for spectators flow & linking the main concourse. Connecting bands at the top and entry level.
+ Vertical light fins creates a visual barrier between inside outside, while still allowing wind movement. Entry level bands for gate signage’s.

CAMOUFLAGING PODS
INTERIOR RENOVATION + COMPETITION DESIGN / WINNER + ROLE - DESIGNER DESIGN, MODELLING, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION + YEAR - 2016 29
The interior renovation project located in Tokyo, is for a cutting-edge engineering software company that develops 3DVR/FEM packaged software and systems. The current showroom lacked proper circulation, order & clarity. After analyzing the equipment’s it was found that black is a dominant color and the equipments were porous. The solution of camouflaging the equipment’s with a backdrop was suggested. The pods have a cavity to hide required service related aspects of the equipment.
01 CURRENT
+ lack of order, multiple colours, haphazard circulation
02 CAMOUFLAGING PODS
+ central partition as visual barrier & cavity for services
+ tri-axial pod , focus for individual equipment

PETE MANE SUB URBAN HOUSE
MODERN RURAL REFLECTIONS + FIRM - ARCHITECTURE PARADIGM, BANGALORE, INDIA + ROLE - ARCHITECT DESIGN & COORDINATION + YEAR - 2012
33
The site is a 2400 Sqft plot, located in a rural town Gundlupet, India. The surrounding rural landscape here is giving way to, enigmatic developments and placeless structures inspired by urban imagery. The process was to look at these conditions and evolve a form that maintains a sense of continuum with the idea of a place without resorting to mimicking the old.
01 GROUND LEVEL PLAN
the screens are designed along the roadside offering privacy to the residence. This aspect adds to the idea which is a result of orienting the spaces towards the interiors rather than the street or outside and critically acknowledges changing structure of the town
the central bay is seen as double height where the upper level spaces look into it futhering the idea of focusing internally

two volumes are subtracted from this and moves to the upper level. One of the open space is seen as multipurpose space/car park. the other is an open to sky court yard located towards the rear.

+ ground floor plan
The brief described a three bed room house which can accommodate 2 families and a social lifestyle. The design for the house draws from the lowrise, dense development bordering rural landscape. The courtyard and open spaces were considered not as an open residue, as it happens in most of the 2400 sft plots, but as a valuable space which enlivens the experience. The facade elements are used vertically and horizontally to form surfaces lending privacy while delivering filtered light, as a result, the faรงade is about the textural surface highlighting the introverted nature of the house.

AMSTERDAM HYBRID DOMESTICITY A COLLECTIVE LIVING MODEL
+
STÄDELSCHULE ARCHITECTURE CLASS, FRANKFURT + THESIS + YEAR - 2015 41
The project started with a detailed valuation study of Amsterdam city. It was found that the current policy failed in addressing the growing problem of increasing number of singles. Sharing was the outcome solution of the initial research. Further, from the case studies the tools and parameters required for designing were selected. Networking - creates value formation. A coherent relationship is created between urban public and the project by having strategic connections by responding to the contingencies/public character at the ground level. Further, the speculative tools derived from case studies are applied at various stages of design.

ORKESTRA ORCHESTRATING THE DEPTH OF LIGHT + STÄDELSCHULE ARCHITECTURE CLASS, FRANKFURT + ROLE - TEAM MEMBER JOINT / FABRICATION STUDY, ASSEMBLY + YEAR - 2014 51
The Exhibition was a part of Luminale (Light + Building expo 2014, Frankfurt). It consists of double curved polypropylene skin that infolds and exfolds in numerous differently scaled perforations. The double curvature surfaces are constructed with the advantage of material elastic bending behavior in the 1.2mm thick polypropylene sheets. The polypropylene sheets are laser - cut to generate 7732 unique pieces, which are assembled with a finger joint system to form a thick, double - layered outer skin. The cavity formed is the location for LED placement. All the units were assembled outside and later the units erected together on site.

MANIPULATION OF URBAN FIELD
SEQUENCE OF SECTIONAL INSETS
+ STÄDELSCHULE ARCHITECTURE CLASS, FRANKFURT + YEAR - 2014 55
The exercise started with a clay model, further, its formation logic was analyzed. The texture pattern which was the main feature and tooling methodology was investigated in detail. Later the tool used to create texturing was computed and several informed & physical model was produced to have a deeper understanding. For the Visitors center project - urban height fields of the site surroundings were traced and the tool was applied to manipulate the field condition prevailing in the site. The tooling location & profile was made decided as per space requirement.
