Dear Business Partner, I would personally like to welcome you to our 2021 Dealer Catalogue. For dealers who don’t know me, I have been with SHIMANO for 33 years and for most of that time I have worked for the fishing division. I also spent seven years (1999 -2006) at the former SEFH headquarters in Nunspeet, the Netherlands, where I made many friends and business partners throughout Europe. During my time with the company I have seen many changes, but one thing that remains consistent at SHIMANO is the family-like, team attitude of the employees and the dealers. There is one thing for sure, we are all stronger as a unit, than we are as individuals, and I hope to develop this unity further and give you the confidence to push your business forward with security, enthusiasm and passion. I also extend a warm welcome to our new regional offices in France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Nordic, and the Baltic regions. These new offices further strengthen our European Team and will offer dealers of these countries a more comprehensive, personal service than previously experienced. The Covid 19 pandemic created some tough business challenges, especially during the second quarter of 2020, when movement restrictions and social distancing were implemented across much of Europe. However, at the time of writing, it is hoped the worst is now behind us and in many countries trade has recovered remarkably well. One of the noticeable developments during this difficult period was the advantage of the MySHIMANO online portal. For those not familiar with the system, it is available to all partnering dealers and enables remote direct ordering, up to date product inventory and availability, along with a full range of supporting features. As always, at the heart of SHIMANO is the product range and the resulting pleasure it gives to anglers of all abilities. Our reputation of prestige, excellence and innovation is enhanced this year with the world-wide introduction of the award winning Vanford (ICAST USA July 2020), a reel which enables even more anglers to experience the benefits of the Magnumlite Series. There are also strategic introductions in many other reel areas, including the increasingly popular baitcasting and saltwater spinning disciplines. You will also see that the use of exclusive SHIMANO carbon technology (Spiral X Core, Spiral X, Hi-Power X is now being used in a wider variety of rods, which again reinforces our commitment to making products which enhance the fishing experience and increase enjoyment. One last new introduction needs mentioning, the new Kairiki 4 carrier braided line! This line oozes quality at a really competitive price point! Further introduction of captivating new products will be launched continuously throughout the later part of 2020 and into 2021 to ensure you have maximum opportunity to create additional revenue.
