Gensler ROLE
Graphic Designer DESCRIPTION
Now in its 16th year, the Gensler Design Excellence Awards (GDEA) program helps set a standard to which all Gensler’s design teams can aspire. Within Gensler, it creates a buzz about design, raises awareness of our top projects, and generates conversations about design in dozens of Gensler offices around the world. Designed three different poster options for the 2015 GDEA. All three posters utilized typography and photography to create graphic contrast and impact. Red wash gradient overlay is used as a general theme across all three mock ups to align with the firm’s 50th anniversary campaign, “fifty On: Shaping the future of design.”

Gensler ROLE
Graphic Designer DESCRIPTION
The Gensler Research+Innovation Awards (GRIA) program, through an external jury, evaluates and celebrates firmwide and project based research and innovation projects. The program sparks discourse and debate about research and innovation, while serving as a forum to engage our industry colleagues in dialogue to develop a more focused point of view that better serves our clients’ needs. An infographic flowchart graphic design was used to create a visually compelling and interactive poster that fits the poster’s theme and purpose, call-for-entries. Information regarding the award program is hierarchically organized in various pathways in order of interest and importance. Yellow color boxes call out pertinent information regarding the awards and also doubles as clickable hyperlinks that link to the award entry web page and past winner submissions. The cluster of arrows and boxes are laid out to outline and form the award acronym, “GRIA”.

Center for Architecture and Urban Design Los Angeles ROLE
Graphic Designer DESCRIPTION
Proposed logo for the new Center for Architecture and Urban Design Los Angeles (CALA). CALA is a non-profit organization established to bring together artists, architects, engineers, planners, developers, builders, designers, politicians and the public in a discourse about urban life. In 2016, CALA will be a physical space in downtown Los Angeles. CALA will house the American Institute of Architects and A+D Museum along with lecture, exhibition and other support spaces to engage the public. The proposed CALA logo exemplifies the idea of convergence and exchange. The vibrant octagon pattern signifies the diverse Los Angeles architecture and urban design community. Feature-like strokes weave through to embody the notion of collaboration and coming together. The Forum typeface adds a contemparary yet classic style to the logo.

Photographer DESCRIPTION
“Pattern, Form, Surface” was a three month long photography study on shapes and textures that were found in nature. These findings were then re-created with artificial objects ( i.e., spin top, light bulb, wire cable) to represent a collage of “nature vs. fabrication” juxtaposition. 3D typography of the word, radiation was created to represent the overarching theme discovered during the previous two months of exploration and research. All image effects were created through the camera.

City of Davis, CA ROLE
Graphic Designer DESCRIPTION
Created a signage system that complements the new landscape of Third Street in Davis. An identity was developed to improve wayfinding on Third Street. “The Bridge at Davis” symbolized the main function of Third Street – a connective passageway between downtown Davis and the UC Davis campus. The logo consisted of a sideways letter B and letter D taken from the B of Bridge and D of Davis. Encasing B inside the D formed the arches of a bridge. Signage system included Entry / Interpretive Signs, Orientational / Information Signs, Directional, Regulatory and Celebratory Signs.
