A WELCOMING community. A Sacred Heart Greenwich student is not defined by a single achievement, but by the depth of her curiosity, the strength of her character, and the confidence with which she steps into an uncertain world. She is known here. Challenged here. And prepared here—for a life of meaning, leadership, and purpose. We are one of over 150 Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries worldwide who share a common set of Goals and Criteria. The Goals and Criteria of the Sacred Heart Schools guide every aspect of student life:
I
FAITH :: A personal and active faith in God
II
INTELLECT :: A deep respect for intellectual values
III
JUSTICE :: A social awareness which impels to action
IV
COMMUNITY :: The building of community as a Christian value
V
WISDOM :: Personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom

From the moment you walk through the doors, you are
welcomed into an environment where you are seen, valued, and respected. The relationships between students and educators encourage both personal and academic growth, all within a community grounded in love and support. :: ANNIE S. ’26 | DARTMOUTH COLLEGE
A Sacred Heart education shapes not only what a girl learns, but who she becomes. As part of a worldwide Network of more than 150 Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries, Sacred Heart Greenwich belongs to a global community united by a shared mission and vision for educating the whole child. For more than 175 years, the Goals and Criteria have guided the formation of generations of young women, inspiring lives rooted in faith, leadership, and service. Every dimension of school life reflects that commitment. Students are challenged in the classroom, inspired through the arts, tested in athletics, encouraged to serve, and supported as they grow in confidence, character, and stewardship. It is not simply preparation for what comes next—it is a foundation for a life of purpose.

I love learning about God at Sacred Heart Greenwich. It makes me feel close to Him, and it helps me remember to be kind and loving to others.
:: ALICE C. ’35
Faith is woven into the daily life of Sacred Heart Greenwich—not simply as a subject of study, but as a way of living. As the only faith-based school for girls in Greenwich, our Catholic identity shapes how students learn, lead, serve, and care for one another. Through prayer, liturgy, retreats, Campus Ministry, and service learning, students put their faith into practice every day. They learn that leadership begins with service, that reflection leads to understanding, and that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. Faith is not confined to the classroom or the chapel. It becomes a guide for the choices students make, the relationships they build, and the lives they lead.

Every Girl is Called to Lead

I’ve learned from experience that our school is an amazing community where everyone is appreciated for who they are, and each girl has their own time to shine.
It’s like I was born to be here. Sacred Heart Greenwich makes me feel confident that I can do anything I set my mind to. This community is an amazing example of a place that has so many wonderful opportunities.
:: MAGGIE K. ’34
Here, girls are not preparing to find their voice—they are already using it. Leadership is embedded in the curriculum from the earliest years. Your daughter will be inspired to contribute, question, and lead across every dimension of school life—in the classroom, in the arts, on the athletic field, and in the service of her community. Her ideas will be taken seriously here. Her perspective will shape the learning environment around her. And the confidence she develops through that daily practice grows steadily into something she will carry with her long after graduation. Every girl is expected to lead—and every girl is given the support to do it. Research shows that graduates of all-girls schools go on to hold leadership positions across business, medicine, law, public service, the sciences, and the arts at significantly higher rates than their peers. We are not surprised by that. We witness those leaders taking shape every day.

Sacred Heart tradition is not just something passed down
in words or ceremonies. It is something lived. It is felt in the way this community shows up in joyful moments and in painful ones. It is in the way our daughters are taught to lead with strength, but also with tenderness. It is in the way they learn to care for one another like family.
:: AMANDA L. ’98, P’30, ’33
Sisterhood. Family. These are the words our students use most often when they describe life at Sacred Heart Greenwich—and they are words our alumnae never stop using, no matter how many years have passed since their graduation. Within a joyful and supportive community, girls build friendships that become lifelong bonds. That closeness doesn’t happen by accident. It grows from a culture where girls are expected to show up for one another, through success and failure, where uplifting one another is part of daily life, and where shared experience builds lasting connection. Sacred Heart Greenwich remains a second home, a community that welcomes its graduates back as warmly as it welcomed them on the first day. Once a Sacred Heart girl, always a Sacred Heart girl.

Sacred Heart Greenwich empowers students to give back
to the community and to always help people that need help... they teach us how to make a difference in the world. :: ELLA B. ’33
Social Justice + Service Learning programs create a vocation that lasts a lifetime. In Lower School, girls learn to notice how their actions affect each other and our world. In Middle School, they begin to ask deeper questions about vocation and responsibility. By Upper School, students engage with complex ideas and lived experiences that challenge them to be confident in their convictions and act with intention. This curricular foundation allows students to respond to the call of service in meaningful ways, with a more complete understanding of the world and the opportunities to combat inequality and injustice. Curriculum, commitment, and advocacy breed the morals, ethics, and understanding to propel students to be lifelong advocates for the poor, powerless, and marginalized.

What I love most about Sacred Heart Greenwich is that no
matter what you decide to do here, you will always have the support of your peers. I think that is incredibly important
when you are growing up to have that confidence in yourself. It is something you will carry with you for the rest of your life. :: JANE M. ’24 | VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY
Build robots. Film a television broadcast. Debate. Track butterfly migration. Master a world language. Conduct research about Mars. Plant a garden. Publish poetry. Learning at Sacred Heart Greenwich extends beyond the classroom and is supported by a 110-acre campus in Greenwich designed for exploration and discovery. From the earliest years, when students spend time outdoors each day through the Mustard Seeds program, to Middle and Upper School students studying the sky in the oncampus observatory, the natural world is an integral part of the learning experience. Students learn in our outdoor classroom, work in gardens, and care for a henhouse on grounds recognized by Audubon International as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Behind each of these experiences are educators who bring their disciplines to life. They are scholars and practitioners who remain active in their fields through research, study, and professional engagement—work that directly informs their teaching. Students learn from teachers who are actively engaged in the subjects they teach.

One of the reasons I went into the medical field is because as a student, there was a requirement of community service, and I
found myself going to the hospital to fulfill those requirements. That experience solidified my desire to go into the medical field. :: DR. ALEXANDRA LEWIS ’01
At Sacred Heart Greenwich, every program, every opportunity, and every experience is intentionally designed to help students discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and develop the confidence to make a meaningful contribution to the world. Across all divisions, students engage in programs and experiences that deepen learning, broaden perspectives, and inspire purposeful growth. Along the way, they discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and develop the confidence and character to lead lives of purpose and impact. When they graduate, they leave not only with an exceptional education, but also with a strong sense of who they are, the courage to embrace what comes next, and the desire to make a difference wherever life leads.
