SPEAK LIFE : The Power of your words
Perhaps it was an encouraging word that lifted your spirits when you were down. Or maybe it was a harsh word that was spoken in response to anger or frustration
Our words have creative power. They are like seeds we plant in the fertile soil of our minds and the minds of others. As we sow, so shall we reap

When I was a little girl, I heard my parents affirm my brother and me fairly often. They would discipline us when needed but it was generally done in a “ you ’ re better than that” tone.
Then, when I was 12 years old, I met my uncle He was my father’s brother and had been estranged from our family since before I was born. That summer I helped out at his catering business and unbeknownst to my parents, my uncle berated me every chance he got His words shocked me, but growing up in a European home, I had learned to respect my elders. So I allowed those words to take root until my father found me hiding in a corner crying. We left that day and never went back.

Once a top athlete with music and academics coming naturally, I developed low self-esteem and deep insecurity that I wasn’t good enough and never would be I didn’t have the awareness at the time to correct my thinking so those roots grew and became stronger as the years went on. It took thousands of dollars invested into coaching and inner healing as an adult to remove all the toxic words from the garden of my mind.
What was said to you when you were young? What are you saying to yourself now? How do you speak to your children, spouse, friends, and co-workers?

Your Words Create Your World:
Our society today has become very loose with our words We use slang, chide each other, betray secrets, and use sarcasm as humor. We lash out at people who don’t share our point of view and tell ourselves things we would never say to a cherished friend.
We may only be talking to one friend about what’s happening in the news or at home, yet we are all connected through our energy. Every time we speak, we are creating a processional or ripple effect that extends around the world How powerful is that!
The Garden of Your Mind:
Do you believe that you are a woman of worth? Are your words in alignment with that belief? What thoughts are you allowing to repeat inside your brain? Thoughts are words spoken internally and have a damaging effect on your nervous system, body chemistry, and more They shape your belief system and influence what you declare loudly.
Is it time to do some gardening of your own, so that the best version of you can show up and thrive?
Awareness is the first step to any transformation, and it begins with you. Become aware of your thoughts and words; particularly those you repeat often. When you hear yourself saying a negative statement, tell yourself, “Stop. I take that back.” Then replace it with the opposite positive. You are interrupting your pattern and rewiring your brain to be more positive and empowering.
Be intentional about planting new seeds in the garden of your mind. Identify an empowering “I am ” statement that contradicts a “not enough” statement that you learned about yourself growing up I call it the Primary Lie. Perhaps like me it was, “I can’t do anything right. I’ll never be successful.”
It’s a lie. Turn it into the positive and say, “I can do a lot of things well. I can , , ... (Fill in the blanks). I am a woman of great value.”
Notice, I wrote it in the present tense The future is always in the future. If I were to say, “I will be able to,” my brain would place it perpetually in the future. Hence I would never arrive
