he first time I became aware that making stained glass was a job was during a school trip to Salisbury Cathedral as a teenager. A couple of friends and I had snuck off during the middle of a rather dull tour and I found myself in the cloisters. 26 | Bridport Times | April 2020
Looking through a window, I was fascinated to see the stained-glass restoration workshop, with the panels all laid out in colourful pieces on the workbench. Back at school, the trip was soon forgotten but a seed had been planted in my mind. I studied art up to A-level but didn‘t pursue it further. Then I took a degree in media studies at Sussex University, after which I found work in London as a design/photography studio administrator.
