The Sixth Form curriculum

Choose three of the following A Level subjects: Biology Business Chemistry Classical Civilisation Design Technology: Fashion and Textiles Design Technology: Product Design Drama and Theatre Economics English Literature Film Studies (AS Level) Fine Art French

Extra academic qualifications and timetabled lessons In addition to three (or occasionally four) A Level subjects, L6 girls attend weekly compulsory timetabled lessons in PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and Study Skills. The Study Skills course is designed to lead towards the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Most girls submit their EPQ in the autumn of their U6 year, although this is not compulsory. The minority of girls who choose not to submit an EPQ must nevertheless attend Study Skills lessons. Please see page 56 for more information about the EPQ.

Girls may also opt to join additional timetabled classes to study for internationally recognised qualifications in: • French: DELF • Spanish: DELE • Italian: PLIDA • German: Goethe Institute (taught at Sherborne School) • Chinese: Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) • Maths: Core Mathematics (AS) Please see page 41 for information about Core Mathematics and pages 42-43 for more on the Language Proficiency Diplomas.
