HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met online in the summer of 2019. Brighton had just returned from a mission trip to Ukraine, and we bonded over our love of international missions. After talking everyday multiple times a day for about a week, we went on our first date to Avenue Pub in Tuscaloosa. We had a great time and knew this was something special and different!
The Proposal
We were at the beach for Brighton’s 30th birthday. Little did I know he was planning to propose afterwards! Throughout the day, he had been talking about wanting to see a bridge in Alys Beach and suggested we walk there after dinner. Once we crossed the bridge, Brighton got down on one knee and proposed! Brighton also booked a local 30A photographer, Sara, whom he found through Local Lens, to capture the proposal.
Favorite Wedding Moment
My favorite moment was our first look. I will never forget the look on Brighton’s face and the love I saw in his eyes. I remember thinking, “I cannot wait to marry this man.” After our first look, we exchanged wedding presents which is also a moment I will never forget. Brighton collects sports cards and had been talking about a specific one for months. I found the card for him and will never forget the excitement on his face as he opened it!
Favorite Wedding Details
One of my favorite details was our wedding invitations and programs. They were designed by my youngest sister, McKinley Rohrer, who is a graphic designer. They were extra special because someone very close to me put time and effort into making sure they were perfect, and everything I wanted!
