Located 7 miles from Sheboygan between Interstate 43 and Wisconsin Highway 23 is the Village of Oostburg, which was settled by Dutch immigrants in the 1840’s. Just one walk through the quiet streets and you’ll quickly see the many reminders of those early settlers, including tulips, miniature windmills and neat and tidy homes. You’ll feel at home in Oostburg because of the close-knit, family friendly community. Every other summer, on the second Friday in August be sure to visit August Fest, which is the biggest block party in the village. And on every other Friday night it seems as though the entire town turns out to cheer on and support the football or basketball teams. The Interurban Trail, once the Milwaukee Electric and Light Company route, is a 40 mile paved path connecting Milwaukee and Sheboygan with a trailhead in downtown Oostburg. The Oostburg Area Chamber of Commerce is a resource for small to large-sized firms doing business in the Village of Oostburg and the rural surrounding communities such as Hingham, Gibbsville, Cedar Grove and Sheboygan. We help our members and associates by providing networking opportunities that allow their businesses to grow and prosper. The Chamber offers quarterly networking meetings as well as “Spotlight” events highlighting area businesses. Our goal is to ensure that the local economy grows, businesses prosper, the community benefits and Oostburg is promoted as a community where “good business is everyone’s business” because we are “Building a Community Together”.
