Félicité is a mother of 4 children, and grandmother to 6 grandchildren. During her free time, she continues to support immigrant families with a special focus on seniors, people living with mental illness and many isolated people.
Throughout the years, Félicité has been the recipient of multiple awards and accomplishments that span over 3 decades. The awards include: the 1990 Canadian African Women’s Organization Volunteer Award for wel-coming African women; the 1995 Canadian African Solidarity Volunteer Award; the 2005 Rwandese Associa-tion Award for her contribution to the settlement and well-being of the Rwandan community in Otta-wa/Gatineau. In 2006, the awards and accomplishments continued, as she was selected to appear in the Ca-nadian Women’s Calendar, while also receiving the Planet Africa Television Volunteer of the Year Award along with the Community Advocate Award. She also received the YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Healthy Living. In 2009, she received the Immigrant Women Service Ottawa Community Leader Award for supporting immigrants to overcome obstacles and barriers.

In 2013, Félicité received an award from the African and Caribbean Health Network of Ottawa. In 2013, she also received the Humanitarian Award from CARI – the Canadian Association of Rwandan Youth, for her ex-emplary efforts in helping others. In 2018, she received an award from Regroupement Affaire Femmes (RAF) for her community involvement.
