Miquelon joined the Board of Directors in June 2017 and was an active member of the Emerging Issues Committee, Quality and Performance Committee and the Audit and Fi-nance Committee. From June 2018 to June 2021, she served as Vice-Chair of the Board, and Chair of the Quality and Performance Committee, and for the past 5 years she brought her insightful perspective on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion.

* * * * * * Guy Desaulniers

Guy joined the Board in June 2018, and was a very active member of the Emerging Issues Committee and Quality and Performance Committee. He also served one year as Vice-Chair of the Board, in his role as Chair of the Emerging Issues Committee. For over 30 years, Guy was a strong advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ2+ communities and, in 2021, he has been awarded with the first Career Impact Award during the festivities of the Public Service Pride Awards 2021, for his passionate advocacy efforts to remove systemic barriers and ad-vance the inclusion and integration of LGBTQ2+ communities in the federal public ser-vice. Guy’s contributions to the Board and his humble and kind spirit were truly valued!

* * * * * * Rebecca Gibbons

Rebecca joined the Board in April 2018. During her two consecutive terms, Rebecca was actively in-volved with the Quality and Performance Committee and the Emerging Issues Committee. For the past year, she served as Vice-Chair of the Board, in her role as Chair of the Emerg-ing Issues Committee. Since 2019, Rebecca was also Board Liaison to the Alliance for Healthier Communities. Her passion for equity, diversity and inclusion, her knowledge and her joyful and outgoing nature were an asset for the Board!

Aynsley Morris

Aynsley joined the SHCHC Board of Directors in August 2015, and was an active member of the Fi-nance and Audit Committee, as well as the Emerging Issues Committee. From June 2019 to June 2021, Aynsley has served as Board Chair. Before that, she held the role of Vice-Chair and Chair of the Emerging Issues Committee, and was the Board Liaison to the Alliance for Healthier Communities.

A strong commitment to social justice and the environment drives both her professional and personal lives, and during her activity with the Emerging Issues Committee, Aynsley brought forward many Policy Resolutions to the Alliance AGM, such as Increasing Access to Injectable Opioid Agonist Treatment and Safer Drug Supply, Address-ing Violence through a Public Health Approach (both in 2020), Extension of Healthy Smiles Ontario Program and Ontario ID Card (in 2019), Housing First (2018), Financial Support from the Province of Ontario and Government of Canada to Ontario’s CHCs to Provide Ap-propriate Cultural Interpretation Services to Refugee Patients (2017).

For the past year, after completing 3 consecutive terms in June 2021, Aynsley continued to work with the Board as Past-Chair, in a non-voting role. Aynsley’s profound knowledge of the system, her advocacy and communications skills, and all her other contributions to the Board were highly appreci-ated by the Board of Directors!

Bernice-Marie Kalubiaka

Bernice-Marie joined the Board of Directors in September 2020, and was an ac-tive member of the Quality Improvement Committee and the Emerging Issues Committee. As a very young Board Director, Bernice-Marie brought a fresh perspective to the Board through her involvement in health equity, diversity and inclusion issues, and her astuteness was immensely valued!

Lesley Ng

Lesley joined the SHCHC Board in February 2021, and resigned last December to pur-sue her career. Even though she was with the Board for a short period of time, she brought her knowledge and perspectives to the Board, and participated on the Audit and Finance Committee.
