Today this scenic Village offers homes with a variety of architectural styles set among rolling woodland hills and surrounded by mature trees over 25 parks and playgrounds maintained by the Glen Ellyn Park District, the Willowbrook Wildlife Forest Preserve, the Village Links Golf Course and access to the Illinois Prairie Path. Lake Ellyn Park, the scene of the annual Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta, is a picturesque spot where naturalists and volunteers have made great strides toward restoring the native oak savanna. The recently refurbished historic Lake Ellyn Boathouse is considered the “jewel� of Glen Ellyn. The Glen Ellyn Park District has ample activities year round from platform tennis to disc golf. The District also operates Holes & Knolls, a 36-hole miniature golf course, an off-leash dog park, Sunset Pool, features a waterslide and diving boards, a splash park, and two recreation centers where offers a range of camps and classes. In the winter, the sled hill and outdoor ice rinks are popular spots for cold-weather fun. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn is a Village owned golf course offering 27 holes of golf. Boasting a top-rated, 7,200 yard championship 18-hole course. The Links has hosted 43 USGA and PGA Tour Qualifying events. The regulation length 9-hole course is ideal for the serious golfer as well as casual play.
