Iftheyweretostartrenovationson thebaseballfieldinspring,itwouldn’t beusableforthatyear’sseason,Folk noted.

Iunlockedtheschoolandopened thedoorstoletinthefreshair.Itwasa perfecteveningwithnowindwhippingthroughthebuilding.
Ishowedthempicturesoftheinside of MiltonSnyder’shomebuilt in 1899. TheseweretakenbyAvisandsent to use.Wethankherforthesepictures. Suchabeautifulhome.
ThenameOglewassuggestedbyThomasFord wholivedinOregonandwaslatergovernorofIllinois.HesuggestedOgleforCaptainJosephOglewho haddistinguishedhimselfatthesiegeofFortHenry duringtheRevolutionaryWar.Oglealsowasan earlyconverttoMethodisminIllinois.

Itwaspleasantjustsittingthere.It remindedmeofthe Wednesdays I wouldspendatthe schoolwhenwe haditopenedmore.

Thefoodwaswonderful.Mikehad madebrisketonthegrillandGailhad madeherprize pineappleup-sidedowncake.Ievenhadasecondhelpingofsomeone’sgreenbeancasserole. Differentonescommentedonallthe wonderfulfood.

ThemeetingtodecidethelocationofOregonas the OgleCounty Seat was held atthehomeofWilliamKellogginOregon. Othercommunitieswere alsointerested,thesebeingDixon,GrandDetour, Buffalo,Daysville,etc.OregonwaschosenJune20, 1837.
OgleCountywasfirst dividedintosixprecincts. Nowwearedividedinto24townships.
