ANNIVERSARY Couple will celebrate 60 years of marriage

Mike and Karen Scholl of Polo will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, Nov. 13.

They were married Nov. 13, 1960, at the Oregon Methodist Church.

An early family celebration was held Oct. 18 at an open sheltered area given by their children, Kent and Mary Scholl of Kaneville, Mark and Kathy Scholl of Polo, Dawn and Steve Glassburn of Tampico, and Michael and Tracy Scholl of Louisville, Colorado.

Several grandchildren came to celebrate with the family. Also attending were John and Jackie Cavanaugh and Kurt and Susan Cavanaugh of Polo.

The couple has 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Two great-grandsons are expected to arrive in 2021.

Citizen, Volunteer of the Year

Each year the Polo Chamber of Commerce recognizes one Polo citizen as the Citizen of the Year and one citizen as the Volunteer of the Year.

Eligible nominees should consistently show civic leadership through volunteerism and service to their community. Cameryn Kaylee Koch of Sublette.
