STATE POLICE Feb. 19 At approximately 6:58 p.m., a state trooper stopped to assist a motorist who was on the ramp from IL-72 to Interstate 39 southbound in Ogle County. During the investigation, the trooper learned the driving privileges of the driver, Skyler Hughes, 28, of Rockford,
were revoked. Hughes was arrested and charged with improper parking in the roadway, driving while license revoked, driving while under the influence, and theft of government property. Hughes was transported to Ogle County Jail.
Feb. 21 At approximately 2:26 a.m., a trooper stopped to assist a motorist whose vehicle was in a ditch on IL-64 at Meridian Road in Ogle County. During the investigation, the driver, Robert C. Richardson, 31, of Mt. Morris, was arrested and charged with driving while under
the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage. Richardson was released on a recognizance bond and issued a court date.

OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle reports the following police activity Feb. 16 At approximately 7:46 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident with possible injuries on Interstate 39 near mile marker 112 northbound. After an investigation, deputies learned a Kia SUV driven by Laurie Sievert, 51, of Davis Junction was traveling northbound on Interstate 39 in the right lane. While Sievert was traveling northbound she began to lose control of her vehicle on the icy road and entered into the left lane. Daniel Drews, 48, of Belvidere was also traveling northbound on Interstate 39 at the time in his Jeep SUV while in the left lane. As Sievert’s vehicle entered the left lane, Drews’ vehicle struck the rear end causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Sievert was transported to Swedish American Hospital for non-life threat-
At 8:44 a.m. deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident in the 10,000 block of East Illinois 38. After an investigation, deputies determined that a Volkswagen driven by Charles Echelbarger, 37, of Rochelle, was westbound when Echelbarger lost control due to slippery road conditions. The Volkswagen made contact with a westbound Chevrolet driven by Carolyn McBride, 61, of Rockford, before colliding head on with a Chrysler minivan that was eastbound at the location. The driver of the Chrysler, Fred Koch, 79, of Ashton, and passenger Anita Koch, 78, of Ashton, were taken by Rochelle Ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
Feb. 18 Santino Sanchez, 20, of Rockford was arrested for driving with no valid driver’s license and on a Rockford felony warrant after being stopped by deputies on Illinois 251 near Holcomb for speeding. Sanchez was also cited for speeding and was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held for the outstanding warrant. Feb. 20 Angela Bahr, 30, of Beloit was issued a citation at 3:52 p.m. for driving while license suspended after deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Freeport Road. Bahr was additionally issued citations for operating
Feb. 21 Robert Disch (no age address listed) was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant. His bond was set at $3,408 pending a Feb. 23 court appearance. Feb. 23 At 1 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on I-39 at mile marker 109 for speeding, 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. Deputies made contact with the driver, Tyson McCarthy, 20, of Dekalb. Upon further investigation, McCarthy was arrested for driving while license suspended, speeding, and on a valid Dekalb County warrant. He was released at the scene on a $2,500 I-bond and given a return court date in Dekalb County for March 29.
