From Home Day Care To Personal Chef Before becoming a personal chef, Noreen Biegalski had run a home day care for five years while her children were very young. “It was really hard,” she says. “But it kept me home and there for my kids.” About six years ago, she switched gears and started her personal chef business. “This is my dream job,” she says. As a personal chef, Biegalski works in her clients’ homes, cooking up customized, restaurant-quality homemade meals. She then stocks their refrigerators and freezers to make their future meals convenient. Her clients come from all types of backgrounds, including singles, senior citizens and families. She travels from Lake to McHenry to Kenosha counties to help families eat better and healthier. She’s looking forward to seeing what her own children — her 11-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son — will come up with for this Mother’s Day. “My daughter always makes me a handmade card with little drawings on them, and the older she gets, the more fancy they get,” Biegalski says. “She goes [to] great lengths to make the day special. Even if she ca n’t make the meal, she does do fancy napkin folds. My son just goes with the flow.” To learn more about Savor Your Thyme Personal Chef Service, visit savorpcs.com. lc
