Plainfield is a prosperous and bustling village, located 35 miles southwest of Chicago, with a population of 39,581 residents. Downtown Plainfield, which is the heart of the community, is a vibrant, pedestrian-focused destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Each year, the downtown is home to a number of special events including Plainfield Fest, classic car nights, movies, and concerts. Plainfield is also home to the Lake Renwick Heron Rookery, numerous historic districts and landmarks, a wonderful park and trail system, and the DuPage River, which provides numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. PACE BUS SERVICE
Weekday bus service between Plainfield and downtown Chicago is available courtesy of the Pace Suburban Bus Company. Consider Pace for your daily commute or a special trip into Downtown Chicago. Two Pace Bus Routes provide service to the Village of Plainfield: Route 755 begins at the Plainfield Park-n-Ride at 14740 Depot Drive (just south of 143rd Street, off of Van Dyke Road) with stops at the Bolingbrook Old Chicago Park-n-Ride, the CTA Pink Line (Damen Station), Illinois Medical District, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and ends at Union Station. Route 855 begins at the Plainfield Park-n-Ride at 14740 Depot Drive (just south of 143rd Street, off of Van Dyke Road) with stops at the Burr Ridge Park-n-Ride, and ends in Chicago with stops in the Loop, River North, and Streeterville. Pace Routes 755 and 855 can operate on sections of the shoulders of I-55. Free Wi-Fi on buses allows passengers to use the internet for work or play while riding. PACE DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE

PACE VANPOOLING
Pace Vanpooling is a workday rideshare arrangement for commuters who live or work in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties. KENDALL AREA TRANSIT
Kendall Area Transit (KAT) will implement transit service in the Kendall County area that is reliable, flexible, and financially sustainable, while satisfying the various mobility needs of the general public and individuals unable to access or operate a private automobiles. Kendall Area Transit provides curb-to-curb and door-to-door services for Kendall County residents. This is a general public transportation service with a priority for the disabled and seniors. Bus services are available 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP SENIOR SHUTTLE SERVICE
Plainfield Township offers senior township residents bus service to run errands to local stores, hair appointments, activities, banks, and doctor appointments. Shuttle service hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The service is for township residents only and registration includes a simple passenger form. WHEATLAND TOWNSHIP RIDE DUPAGE PROGRAM
The Ride DuPage program, a service providing valuable paratransit options for seniors and people with disabilities, has expanded to Wheatland Township. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with both bus and taxi service, Ride DuPage specializes in reduced fares and door-to-door service for seniors and people with disabilities. The program is available for any type of trip whether it is personal, medical, or workrelated which offers participants flexibility and dependability. All participants must be registered.
