Stillman beats Dixon: Stillman Valley’s rushing attack put together just enough quality drives to build a lead, then had just enough to get the final few first downs to run out the clock in a 20-14 win over Dixon.
The Dukes (3-1) scored with 3:24 left in the game to get the deficit down to six points, but on the ensuing drive, the Cardinals converted a third-and-short and were able to kneel down from there.
Stillman Valley running back Jory Spain had 33 carries for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Spain carried 21 times for 87 yards in the first half alone, accounting for 21 of his teams 32 first-half offensive plays and all but 17 of the Cardinals’ first-half yards. He then capped off his team’s scoring with a 5-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter and a 3-yard run with just over six minutes to play.
Dixon’s Tyler Shaner finished with 18 carries for 104 yards. Johnson had six carries for 112
Winnebago 35, Oregon 6: Winnebago scored 28 first-half points in a win over the Hawks.
Forreston 52, Dakota 6: After the teams traded scores in the first quarter, the Cardinals rolled off 44 unanswered points for the NUIC win. Matthew Beltran had touchdown runs of 4, 2, 14, 9 and 66 yards to finish with 148 yards on 17 carries. McKeon Crase added 116 yards on 11 rushes. Forreston’s defense held Dakota to 90 yards of total offense.
8-Man
Amboy beat the top-ranked team in the state in 8-man football, West Central, 60-14 at The Harbor. The Clippers got 20 points in the first quarter and 32 in the second to jump out to a 52-8 halftime lead.
Kye Koch rushed five times for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Tucker Lindenmeyer had six carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Polo’s game was cancelled.

Forreston beats AFC 25-11, 25-14:
Individual leaders for Forreston were Rylee Broshous, 7 kills, Mary Salins, 10 assists, 6 aces, and Kara Erdmann, 10 digs.
Rockford Lutheran def. Oregon 21-25,
25-16, 25-12: The Crusaders rallied from a set down to beat the Hawks in a Big Northern battle.
Jenae Bothe had nine kills, five digs, a block and an ace for Oregon. Ava Wight had seven kills and 20 digs. Aubrey Point had 11 digs, an ace and 16 assists.
Eastland def. Forreston 29-27, 25-21: Two close sets both went to the Cougars for the NUIC win. Rylee Broshous had 10 kills for the Cardinals. Jaiden Schneiderman had five kills. Brooke Boettner had 11 assists.
Oregon def. West Carroll 20-25, 26-24,
25-19: The Hawks outlasted the Thunder in a nonconference match at the Blackhawk Center. Ava Wight had 15 digs, seven kills and three aces, and Jenae Bothe led Oregon (4-7) with nine kills and two blocks. Cass Aylward added 10 digs and four aces, and Sophie Stender chipped in 19 digs.
Fulton def. Polo 25-9, 20-25, 25-23: The Steamers pulled out an NUIC win in a tight final set over the Marcos. Nicole Boelens led Polo with 13 kills, 17 digs and two aces. Teah Almasy added eight assists and eight digs, and Natalie Nelson had six assists, eight digs and two aces.
Forreston def. AFC 25-11, 25-14: The Cardinals picked up an NUIC win over the Raiders. Forreston’s Rylee Broshous had seven kills, while Mary Salins had 10 assists and six aces, and Kara Erdmann had 10 digs.
Polo 5th, Panthers 6th in Pearl City: The Marcos were 3-1-1 and Erie-Prophetstown went 1-4 on the day at the Pearl City Invite, as Polo defeated the Panthers in the consolation championship match.
In pool play, Polo downed EP in straight sets, split two sets with Indian Creek, and lost in two sets to Pearl City. The Marcos

Boys golf
Le-Win-Pearl City 214, Forreston 216: The Cardinals fell by two strokes at Sunset. Heath Schubert’s 52 led Forreston.
Salley Wessels Invite: The Dixon boys golf team finished fourth at the Salley Wessels Invite on Saturday at Sunset Golf Club in Mt. Morris. The Dukes scored a 357 to finish behind Byron (338), Yorkville (344) and Stillman Valley (353). Oregon was seventh (405), Forreston placed eighth (446), and Polo took 10th (569).
Oregon’s Isaac Kaltenbrun finished 17th (91). The Hawks’ Logan Sarver tied for 26th (99), and Polo’s Cody Buskohl tied for 29th, with a 100.
Hayden Stralow led Forreston in a tie for 31st (102). Byron’s Mason Brandt was medalist with a 76.
Oregon 208, Rock Falls 215: The Hawks edged the Rockets in a Big Northern dual at Silver Ridge. Rock Falls’ Riley Anderson was medalist with a 47. Isaac Kaltenbrun led Oregon with a 48.
Lena-Winslow 205, Polo 251: The Marcos fell to Le-Win at Wolf Hollow. Cody Buskohl and Clay Davis both shot a 48 to lead the Marcos.
Boys soccer
Byron 1, Oregon 0: The Hawks lost a Big Northern battle at Oregon Park West, as Byron scored with 9:14 left in the game to notch the victory.
Rockford Christian 5, Oregon 2: The Hawks dropped a Big Northern Conference match at Oregon Park West, despite 15 saves by goalkeeper Miley Smith. Isaac Nelson and Joey Gelander scored goals for Oregon (5-8, 1-4), and Liam Dickson-Harriett dished an assist.

Rock Falls 175, Oregon 192: Megan Fiorini led Rock Falls (23-0) with a 2-under-par 34 to take medalist honors. For the Hawks, Ava Hackman shot a 44. Cassie Nyderek and Lena Trampel each shot a 47.
Lena-Winslow 197, Polo 250: The Marcos fell at Wolf Hollow. Kamryn Stockton led Polo with a 52. Sarah Edler was the medalist with a 38.
Girls cross country
DeKalb 26, Oregon 55, Rochelle 55:
Hawks freshman Ella Dannhorn won the individual title at the Rochelle Invite, clocking a 21:40.3 to beat runner-up Annika Burchell of DeKalb by 0.8 seconds.
Katelyn Bowers finished 13th for Oregon in 27:41.4, and Ellen Hodson was 15th in 28:27.9. Valerie Nyderek (21st), Grace Tomlinson (22nd), Taylar Rufer (23rd), Valerie Davis (24th) and Simona Carriera (27th) also finished in the top 30 for the Hawks.
Boys cross country
Oregon 5th in Rochelle: The Hawks scored 131 points to place fifth at the Rochelle Invite. Christopher Smith led Oregon in 30th place (24:17.9), and Nicholas Meives-Wylie was 37th (26:26.0).
