Breakfast With Santa is set for Saturday, Dec. 11, in Leaf River

The Leaf River Lions Club will be serving a “Breakfast With Santa” on Saturday Dec. 11 in the Bertolet Memorial building. The menu of pancakes, waffles, French toast, scrambled eggs, whole hog sausage, applesauce, orange Juice, milk and coffee will be served from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Strawberries with whipped cream will be available as well as blueberry and chocolate chip pancake options. Santa will be arriving around 9 a.m. and stay until breakfast is over. For this special occasion children 12 and under will eat for free. There will also be games and giveaways for the kids after they eat in the basement. There will also be opportunities to have pictures taken with Santa. Letters to Santa are also welcomed, but make sure the child’s name, age,

and address are clearly included with the letter. All letters will be answered. Pricing for the breakfast will be age 13 - adults $7 and all you can eat for $9. Mark your calendar and plan to come and eat breakfast with Santa, play some games and get your picture taken with Santa Claus!

BERTOLET LIBRARY Holiday Closures Bertolet Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24 and will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving. We will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday the 27th. Paws for Reading Ryan will be back just in time to listen to your favorite holiday story. Bring your favorite from home or choose one from the library. Ryan looks forward to listening to you! Our next Paws for Reading event will be Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. Register your independent reader for a 15 minute time slot by calling 815-738-2742 today. Bertolet Book of the Month Club Book of the Month Club will return in January! Story Hour There will not be Story Hour on Nov. 25 due to

the Thanksgiving holiday. Miss Jana will be back on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. Registration requested but not required. Masks will be required. Craft Kits for Adults Bertolet Memorial Library is now offering take home craft kits for adults and/or families. The kits provide the materials and instructions needed to make a craft. It’s a great opportunity to be creative and de-stress at the same time. November’s craft will be a tissue paper “stained glass” Christmas decoration. Stop in to pick up your kit today! FORRESTON LIBRARY Read for a Lifetime All high school students are invited to participate in “Read for a Lifetime”. This program from the Secretary of State encourages students to read for pleasure from a list of 20 current and classic titles in both fiction and nonfiction. All participants who read at least four books from the list by April 8th will receive a certificate from the state and a chance to win a gift card from the library.
