TheOWCalsohasbeenaprime moverinthedevelopmentoftheOregonParkDistrict.Interest beganin 1966whentheOregonParentsClub expressedadesiretohaveacommunityswimmingpool,butthecostof a poolwasprohibitiveforsuchasmall group.
Formorethan100years, theOregonWoman’sClubanditspredecessor,theOregonWoman’sCouncil, havecontributedtothelifeofOregon andthesurroundingareas.
A commemorative plaquehonoring the Oregon Woman’sClub 100th Anniversary and its involvementwith the Oregon ParkDistrict has been placed at MixPark.

Thistraditionofcommunityservicecontinuestothisday.TheOWC regularlycontributestonumerous communityprojectsandservices, includingHOPE,LifelineFriendsof Library,theRockRiverCenter,PegasusSpecialRiders,VillageofProgress, WinningWheels,FOCUSHousein Rochelle,ShiningStar,VFWPost8739, SerenityHomeandHospice,and NachusaGrasslands.
Geiken,whowaspresidentofthe OWC,inorganizinganumberofinterestedsmallgroupswhodecidedthat theanswerwastoformtheOregon ParkDistrict.TheOWCagreedtobear thecostofanelectiontodecide whethertoorganizetheParkDistrict.
Thatprojectcontinuedafterthe namechange,andthisgoalwasfinally achievedinSeptember1927.Later projectsoftheearlyyearsincluded plantingshrubberyattheColiseum andcontributingtoacensusandhistoryoftheoldesttreesinOregon.The resultsofthatcensusareonfileatthe OregonPublicLibrary.Theclub also boughtandplacedLoradoTaft’sdioramasattheOregonHighSchool.
Proceedsfromsubsequentshows wenttoplantingsatPinesRoadand IllinoisRoute2,flowerboxesforthe city,anannualbanquetforhighschool juniorsandseniors,adrinkingfoun tainforthelibrary,booksforthe libraryandlocalschools,theLions ClubPark,ProjectConcern inVietnam,andscholarshipstohelpsend studentstomusic,artandconservationcamps.
