Born: September 7, 1947 in Freeport, IL Died: January 1, 2022 in Rockford, IL Darold Lynn Wubbena, 74, of Shannon, died Saturday January 1, 2022 at Alden-Park-Strathmor Nursing Home in Rockford, IL. He was born September 7, 1947 in Freeport, IL, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Artman) Wubbena. Darold farmed in the Shannon, IL area. He served his country in The United States National Guard. He was a member of The Shannon American Legion. He enjoyed going to farm sales, playing cards, driving his truck and semi, having coffee with friends, and watching high school sports. Darold is survived by his mother, Dorothy Wubbena of Lena, Il; two daughters, Becky (Ryan) Guentner of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Wendy (Shawn) Bean of Peotone, IL; brother, Wayne (Sandy) Wubbena of Warren, IL; sister, Darlene (Doug) Pauley of Winslow, IL; four grandchildren, Olivia and Jack Guentner and Payton and Kayla Bear; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Gloria Haury of Stockton, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wubbena. Funeral services will be11:00 A.M. Saturday January 8, 2022 at Forreston Grove Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Forreston Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Darold’s memory.
