Open House Cogdal Gladys Cogdal, formerly of Arlington, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sept. 4. Gladys has nine children, Richard (Patti) of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Roger (Donna) of LaMoille, Norman (Brenda) of Arlington, Sharon (Don) Pillar of Mendota, Duane (deceased), Janice Wamhoff of Gladys Princeton, Debbie Cogdal of Austin, Texas, Cogdal Barbara (John) Hild of Arlington and Gary (Joan) of Channahon. She also has 44 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. To celebrate this milestone, Gladys’ family will honor her with an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick’s Church Hall in Arlington. Dunns will note 50th wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dunn of Harmon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a family dinner. Gerald Dunn and the former Anita Becker were married at St. Patrick Church in Maytown. They are the parents of Martin (Joan) Dunn of Cape Coral, Fla., Patty (fiancé John) of Putnam, Peggy (Gary) Clark of Princeton and Kathy (Rob) Riley of Ohio. They also have seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandson.

Kromphardts note 35th wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kromphardt of Columbus, Ind., formerly of Spring Valley, will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. Steam train rides planned for Sept. 8 The Tiskilwa and Sheffield fire departments and the Iowa Interstate Railroad have combined efforts for a steam train ride from Tiskilwa to Sheffield and back, or from Sheffield to Tiskilwa and back, on Sept. 8. Trains from Tiskilwa will leave 9 a.m. and return at 11:15 a.m. or leave at noon and return at 2:15 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the Tiskilwa Fire Department or by calling the Tiskilwa Fire Station non-emergency line at 815-646-4722 and
leaving a message. Trains from Sheffield will leave at 10:30 a.m. and return at 12:45 p.m. or leave at 1:30 p.m. and return at 3:45 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the Sheffield Fire Department or by calling the Sheffield Fire Department nonemergency line at 815454-2212 and leaving a message. Tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for ages 3-12 and free for 2 and under. All proceeds will benefit the Tiskilwa and the Sheffield fire departments.
Amanda Evenson of Champaign and James Nelson of Champaign were united in marriage June 22 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. The bride is the daughter of Amy and Doug Evenson of Princeton. The groom is the son of Bill and Lina Nelson of Princeton. Sarah Richardson, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Hannah Decklever, cousin of the bride, Kari Decklever, cousin of the bride, Jessica Chase, friend of the bride, and Michele Kelly, sister of the groom. Kylyn Kelly, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Brian Dhom, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Nick Dykstra, friend of the groom, Greg Bankes, friend of the groom, Cole Evenson, brother of the bride, and Nathan Kelly, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Matt Morse, friend of
the groom, and Adam Wysocki, friend of the groom. Kirlkand Kelly, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer. A reception to honor the couple was held at Wise Guys Bar and Grill in Princeton. Assistants at the reception were Jennifer and Doug Phillips of Princeton. After a wedding trip to the Wisconsin Dells, the couple is making their home in Champaign. The bride is a 2008 graduate of Princeton High School and a May 2012 graduate of Monmouth College. She is the lead teacher at Chesterbrook Academy in Champaign. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Princeton High School, a 2008 graduate of Illinois Valley Community College and a 2010 graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign. He is a veterinary technology student at Parkland College in Champaign.

Dyer-Pinkas Meghan Dyer of Glen Carbon and Kevin Pinkas of Glen Carbon were united in marriage July 19 in Edwardsville. The bride is the daughter of Roger and Lynn Lowe of Princeton, and Terry Dyer of Rock Falls. The groom is the son of Debra Reed of Edwardsville and Scott Pinkas of Edwardsville. The bride graduated from Princeton High School in 1996. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston in 2000 and a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville in
2004. She is employed by the Edwardsville School District and is currently a Pre-K teacher in Glen Carbon. The groom graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1994 and received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2000. He is a customer administration process and support specialist for Thomson Reuters in St. Louis. Following the wedding, the couple hosted a golf scramble and reception at the Oak Brook Golf Club in Edwardsville. The couple is making their home in Glen Carbon.
