HOME SAFETY SURVEY

There is no better place to learn about fire safety than in your own home. A team of highly trained Bolingbrook firefighters will visit your home, on your schedule, and review common pitfalls related to fire and life safety.

PUBLIC SERVICES & DEVELOPMENT Public Services & Development combines Public Works, Community Development and Planning & Zoning departments providing services to residents with respect to public right of way and infrastructure. The department answers questions regarding garbage pickup, recycling, and yard waste collection, schedules service tickets for street light and pothole repair, dead animal removal from Village streets and other requests for services handled by its various divisions (Engineering, Streets, Building and Fleet Maintenance, Forestry and Electrical and Wastewater Utilities). In addition review of all developmental and permit applications for compliance with zoning development and building codes and issuance of building permits and occupancy certificates.

The Public Services Department business hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., (630) 226-8800. A Public Services employee is also always on-call. For after-hours emergencies that require immediate attention, call the Police Department Non-Emergency number, (630) 2268660 and they will notify Public Services. Building Permits are required for any household work performed with the exception of cosmetic projects e.g. painting, flooring. If in doubt, or if you should have any questions regarding the permitting process please contact the building division at 630226-8470.
