Too many cars I don’t think the parking charge [in Brookfield] would apply to visitors or “emergency situations,” but if you want to talk about fairness, let’s address the houses with multiple cars on the street that take up more room than their own house. I am tired of looking at other people’s junks in front of my house every day. When I have visitors, they have to park down the block because there is no room by my house. How fair is that? Street
Higher authority? According to the U. S. Constitution, Article 14, Section 1, no state shall, “Deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” But then in Illinois, and we have a higher authority than the U.S. Constitution our new law, HB 1522 provides for taxing Peoria County residents and DuPage County residents for rainwater runoff. Furthermore, it enables Peoria County residents to vote on this, but denies DuPage County residents the right to vote. And who or what is the higher authority that enacted this law that clearly violates the U.S. Constitution? It is the Illinois General Assembly and our governor, who just passed the law.

The Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives holds the purse strings of the U.S.A. All money spending bills must originate in the House of Representatives, according to the U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 7. The dreaded October implementation of the heart of Obamacare can be stopped dead in its tracks if the U.S. House of Representatives refuses to fund it. Call your U.S. representative and Speaker Boehner and demand a hold on Obamacare spending.
parking also encourages multiple families living in a single family house, these houses often use far more resources than they are paying for. That is unfair to all the taxpayers in the village. It’s time to stop catering to the few rotten apples, and focus on the good of the village. That is the fair thing to do.
