How would you describe your art? It’s constantly evolving. I’m a painter and work with mostly acrylics. It’s a mix of abstract and narrative. It’s color-based, and varies based on what’s happening in my life. A lot of my work focuses on a single image – I call them icon images.

What’s going on at Dandelion Gallery for the event? At Dandelion Gallery we have a student show featuring three student artists from Waukegan

that we awarded scholarships. It’s special for us because typically we have member shows. It’s early in the day and it’s pretty focused on the wine. Last year, Dandelion Gallery actually served dandelion wine [the name of a novel Ray Bradbury, Waukegan resident, which inspired the gallery’s name.] It was very Waukegan, and very disgusting, so we won’t be serving it this year.

What’s your day job? I’m a Sherwin-Williams color consultant for Gurnee, Mundelein and Round Lake. I go to people’s houses and help them pick out paint colors.
