ELMHURST – Senior citizens are invited to enjoy their own prom from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. The senior citizen prom will be in the York High School cafeteria/commons. Admission is $5 at the door and includes refreshments. The Ballroom Big Band will play, and seniors are encouraged to attend with or without a date. Walk-In Ministry’s second annual garage sale will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at Bethel United Church of Christ, 315 E. St. Charles Road. Members from the York Community High School Key Club will assist with the sale while the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst will host a pancake breakfast that morning next door at Sandburg Middle School. The ministry requests donations of gently worn household items, clothing (especially children’s) and sports equipment. Electronics are not wanted. Donations maybe dropped off between noon and 6 p.m. May 10 at the church. – Suburban Life Media
