ONE PATIENT’S JOURNEY FROM DESPAIR TO HOPE
Meet Kadie, an optimistic single mother of two adult children. After a sudden divorce and a series of unfortunate events, Kadie found herself homeless and without a support system. Her relationship with her daughters had become strained post-divorce and she suddenly found herself living in a car, relying on our food pantry and public restrooms for basic needs.
Kadie came to Share Our Selves feeling hopeless and helpless. Being a Newport Beach native, she was aware of the support services we could provide but never thought she would become a patient here in her lifetime. Thanks to the compassionate care and support of our team, Kadie was able to get the dental attention she needed, as well as access to social services and our food pantry. Care Manager, Michael McGlinn, helped her find temporary housing in Orange in a residence which specializes in aiding older adults seeking housing.
