Children’s Tea Time with Mrs. Claus Dress your little ones in their holiday finery for an afternoon with Mrs. Claus. Enjoy spiced cider, cookies and sandwiches made special for little fingers. Special Holiday Meals at The Trustees’ Table Gather around the Trustees’ Table with family and friends to make memories that last a lifetime. Tours of Centre Family Dwelling + Craft Demonstrations Enjoy guided tours of the Centre Family Dwelling, then learn how the Shakers shared the magic of Santa Claus with children in the village. See textile, woodworking and broom making demonstrations, then try your hand at these historic crafts. Solo Holiday Music Performances Listen to solo performances of joyous holiday music fill the Meeting House, while learning how the Shakers incorporated music into their daily chores and special occasions. The Giving Tree + Shaker Christmas Tree Bring in new gloves, hats or scarves to leave behind on the Giving Tree for those less fortunate, then stop by with the family to make paper chains and help decorate the Centre Family Dwelling Christmas tree. Farm Programming Help us prepare for the winter plant dormancy with seed saving programs. Find out how we overwinter the garden in anticipation of the spring planting season, then learn about the management of our herds during the colder months. Candlelight Journals What was life like on the dark and frosty frontier? Immersed in the glow of candles in The Historic Centre, let the Shakers share their own thoughts and experiences, from ice skating adventures to subzero temperatures.

Special Music Enjoy special performances of holiday favorites by a variety of regional musicians in the Meeting House. Holiday Caroling Join us in singing some of the season’s most popular carols, as we continue one of the Village’s most celebrated traditions. The Elf Shop Create an outdoor ornament to help keep your backyard friends warm and fed this winter. Craft your own letter to Santa using pen and ink wells similar to those the Shakers used. Bonfires + Hot Chocolate Warm up around our fire pits and enjoy delicious complimentary hot chocolate and spiced cider. Jingle Bell Shuttle Rides additional charge of $5 per person Catch a ride on a festive wagon as it travels down the Village paths.
Children’s Tea Time with Mrs. Claus Dec 5, 12 + 19 $10.95 per person Dress your little ones in their holiday finery for an afternoon with Mrs. Claus. Enjoy spiced cider, cookies and sandwiches made special for little fingers. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Dining guests receive complimentary admission and 10% discount at The Craft Shops. Menu includes glazed cranberry scones, cream cheese and cherry sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pigs in a blanket with honey mustard dip, pineapple and grape skewers, thumbprint cookies, wedding cookies, red and green sugar cookies and hot chocolate, apple juice and milk.

NOV 7 Small Basket Making Workshop Learn to weave a small reed basket in the tradition of the Shakers. This practical handicraft will become a useful and charming part of your home’s decor. 10am, $30 NOV 21 + DEC 5 Holiday Reed Star Workshop Learn how to weave the intricate star pattern using reed, which can be replicated at home in a variety of sizes and materials. 10am, $20 NOV 21 Blessing of the Hounds Join Shaker Village and the Woodford Hounds fox hunters for this grand, traditional event featuring a blessing of the hounds, riders and the fox, followed by the first meet of the formal hunting season. 10am, Free NOV 28 Beeswax Candle and Soap Making Workshop Learn the basics of cold processed soap making, using all natural products such as herbs, beeswax and honey. 10am, $35 DEC 19 Herbal Health Workshop The Shakers grew, prepared and sold medicinal herbs across the country. Learn about varieties of herbs and how they can be used to make products for your home and body. 10am, $35 DEC 19 Winter Geology Hike Hike through the nation’s largest private collection of rock walls, and observe the oldest exposed rock formations in the state without the hindrance of changing foliage. 10am, $10
