Textured paper can add a whole new dimension to die-cuts, especially when ink is added to bring out the detail. Die-cuts also invite extra touches like hand-stitching.

ONE • I used textured handmade paper to create the leaves. TWO • Each leaf was inked with daubers in fall colors. THREE • I adhered the leaves with a glue dot so I could bend the edges away from the page. FOUR • The tree shape was run through a Xyron sticker machine. FIVE • I adhered the image; pierced holes about 1/8 inch apart on the die-cut. SIX • The image was hand-stitched directly to the page with floss in a contrasting color.
