Digital Media Courses

Accounting

Digital Design and Production

Accounting in the language of business. In this class, students will learn how to be financial gurus using the accounting cycle. Students will learn record-keeping, decision making, spreadsheets, and financial analysis skills. You must have successfully passed Alegebra I to be able to take this course.

Students enrolled in Digital Design & Production plan, design, and create the Charger Yearbook. If you like photography, writing, talking to people, or designing then being part of the yearbook staff would suit you. This class requires an extensive amount of work and dedication, both in and out of class time. Students must apply to be enrolled in this course with instructor permission.

Advanced Accounting Students will continue their accounting journey by taking Advanced Accounting. This course will be based upon student's skills and need in accounting. Possibility of job shadowing and intership throughout course. This course may be repeated as necessary.

Business Essentials Business Essentials is an introductory course for students interested in a business related career. Students will get hands on experience by creating their own business while learning about the various branches of business. If you are event remotely interested in going into a career in business, this is a great course for you to get a better understanding of the world of business.

Career and Life Planning CLP is a class devoted to developing career and life skills. Think of it as an “Adulting 101� class. We will learn how jobs affect self and family, and how to manage conflict and stress. Students experience job shadowing and create a presentation over the experiences. We will also explore personal finance and learn about managing a paycheck and handling credit cards. Students will create a career portfolio.

Everything Google and More Google is everywhere and so much more than a search engine. We will learning all the awesome applications and add-ons Google has to offer. You will learn how to make practical documents that will help you in the future and how to use Google to be the googlest.

Photo Imaging Students in Photo Imaging learn the art and science of photography by getting hands-on learning with DSLR cameras through various assignments and projects. If you are interested in learning photography skills, this class is perfect for you.

Future Business Leaders of America FBLA is the premier business student organization in america. Students who are members of FBLA are able to showcase their skills by competing at district, state, and national levels. Membership dues are $10. Students in FBLA get to practice FBLA events in class as part of the curriculum. SFT has a strong history in FBLA, receiving many awards and honors.

Game Design In Game Design, students learn how to design and develop basic video games. Students will explor the various jobs within the video game industry, learn computer science principles, and create games using Scratch & Python. Students MUST take Intro to Computer Science before they can take Game Design.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design is the art or skill of combining text and pictures for visual display. Students will learn basic design principles, how colors work in design, and typography. Throughout the course students will create real-world projects to practice the skills learned in class. Adobe Photoshop & InDesign will be used to create various products.

Intro to Computer Science

Students in Intro to Computer Science will be introducted to the world of computers. Students will get hands on learning by apply CS Principles by coding using various languages (Scratch, Python, and Java Script). Students will create animations, games, and program robots and other creations. Good intro class to take before Game Design or Engineering & Design.

Careers Students who take courses in the Business & Digital Media department are constantly being exposed to careers in the field. Students are highly prepared to attend post-secondary education after completing courses at SFT. Many guest speakers in the fields come and talk with our students.
