President’s Message

To quote Buddha: “Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learnedalittle,andifwedidn’tlearnalittle,atleastwedidn’tgetsick,andifwegotsick,atleast we didn’tdie;so,letusall be thankful. ”Assimple (and somewhathumorous)asthatquote may be, I find it very applicable to all of us today.

Thisyearisquicklycomingtoanend,andmostofficesarebusyfinishingtreatmentplansforpatients before their insurance benefits end. Our families may also be in a rush getting gifts for those we love and planning get-togethers with close friends. It is a laundry list of things to get done before January 1 and, in my case, throwing a wedding as well.

But,Iwouldliketotakeanopportunitytoreflectandgivethanks.Iwanttothankallthemembers thatmakeourassociationsounique.Ithankallofyou,andverysignificantly,thoseinleadership positions who take time out of their demanding schedules to contribute to the profession. I also wish to say “thank you” to our executive director, executive assistant, and membership coordinator,forwithoutthesethreehighlytalentedindividuals,theSFDDAwouldnotbethepowerhouse district that it is.

I personally would like to thank God for all the people who have blessed my life. Giving thanks is a rewarding practice because recognizing others is to realize how gracious God is, and how blessed our lives are. With the pandemic slowly coming to an eventual end, life and the importance of health cannot be more underappreciated or overstated.

Letusalltaketimetoacknowledgethosewhohavepassed,andbegraciousforourownhealth and wellbeing. So, as we bid adieu to this year and welcome the new one, please remember to begraciousandgivethanks.MayGodcontinuetoblessthisassociation,itsmembers,andtheir families for years to come.
