Hello Summer! I’m going out on a limb here, but I think we missed Spring and went straight to summer. I’m not sure what that did to your world, but for me it threw me completely off center. I lost track of days due to snow days galore, I completely missed planting my gardens, and I found myself shocked the school year was over. I did however get some extra sewing days in, and as a result we have some really fun projects for you this summer. Stop in check them out and sign up for some sewing fun. Speaking of signing up for classes, do you know about our summer class pass? This pass is a great way to take as many classes as you want for $149. Taking classes is a great way to meet new friends with similar interests, get a project done, and learn a new skill. Sew With me has a wealth of knowledge and some great instructors that love to share what they have learned. Besides our wonderful staff, we have invited Doug Leko to share his love for quilting with us this summer at our customer event of the year A Date with Doug. Last year’s event was so successful this year we have moved it to the Envision Hotel in St. Paul. Entertainment, Food, and Quilting...who could ask for anything more? Creating with your embroidery machine can be a bit daunting, but once you start you will be amazed at what you can do. Let us walk you through the beginnings with 6 hours of education all about, stabilizers, placement, trimming, and sew much more.
Quilting has become an American and worldwide pastime. This is the class that will take you through all the steps of quilt making with all the education you need to get started. We will make a complete quilt together all the way through the binding process.

TIPS for HAVING A GREAT CLASS We are looking forward to having you come and learn with us. Here are a few tips to make your classes fun and enjoyable! Make sure your sewing machine is in good working order Review you class supply list and pick up what you need using the 15% class supply discount Pack your machine and supplies up the day before, and make sure you have all your feet, hoops, and cutting tools needed for class Arrive to class 10 to 15 minutes prior to class so you can be set up and ready to go. Come ready to learn, create, and have fun!

Quilting Tip Piecing a quilt takes lots of time and precision. We worry about our cutting, seam allowance, and keeping everything square. Another important part of the piecing process is the stitch length of our straight stitch when we are piecing. You should be getting 1618 stitches per inch. This will create a stronger seam for years of enjoyment. Most machines will need a length of 1.8 to 2.0 to achieve this stitch count.
