SEWARD SILVER SALMON DERBY The Seward Silver Salmon Derby is a family favorite for Alaskans and visitors alike. The annual competition brings anglers to Resurrection Bay each August in a bid to bring in the largest silver salmon. Star ted in 1956, the derby is one of the oldest and largest in the state. The derby days are Seward’s busiest f ishing days each year, with thousands casting their line for the chance to win. Prizes are awarded for the heaviest f ish overall and for those who catch any of the tagged f ish. Anglers can also win daily prizes.
