SEK-Dublin se presenta al premio ‘Write A Book’ Este curso, los alumnos de SEK-Dublin han participado en la competición nacional Write a Book. Los jóvenes escritores del Colegio se enfrentaron al reto de escribir un libro en inglés. Compitieron con otros niños irlandeses y crearon unos maravillosos libros encuadernados que pusieron en valor una increíble creatividad a la altura de cualquier nativo angloparlante. Macarena Vargas Higuero recibió el premio como ganadora de SEK-Dublin en una gala en el Fitzpatrick Hotel de la capital irlandesa. ■
Write A Book awarded to SEK-Dublin This year students from SEK-Dublín had the great opportunity of taking part in the established national ‘Write a Book’ competition. Young writers from the school undertook the daunting challenge of writing a short book in English. Competing against their Irish peers they created wonderful bound books that showcased their amazing creativity on par with any native speaker. Macarena Vargas Higuero will be receiving an award of merit on behalf of SEK-Dublín at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Dublin. ■

En SEK-El Castillo este año se han puesto en marcha nuevos espacios Maker para cubrir la totalidad de los ciclos del Colegio. En ellos se fomenta la creatividad y el talento de los alumnos en un aprendizaje informal basado en el arte, las ciencias y la actitud emprendedora.
SEK-El Castillo has opened new maker spaces to cover every stage of students’ school life. Maker spaces foster and encourage students’ creativity and talent in informal based art, science and entrepreneurial learning.
El alumno aprende a través de los sentidos, y la capacidad sensorial proporciona una interacción más profunda entre él y su entorno educativo. Con esa premisa, SEK-El Castillo ha vuelto a introducir la cerámica, y su proceso de elaboración, expresión y cocción en el horno escolar, como un material estructural que incide en el aprendizaje desde áreas multidisciplinares: la historia, la plástica, la tecnología y las ciencias.
Students learn through the senses, and their sensory capacity affords more in-depth interaction between them and their educational environment. With this premise, SEK-El Castillo has reintroduced ceramics, the production process, creative expression and heating in the school kiln, as a structural material that acts on learning in multidisciplinary areas such as history, arts, technology and sciences.
Por su parte, los más pequeños también desarrollan su creatividad. En Nursery se realiza una actividad llamada Let’s cook together. ¿Qué hacemos, amasamos o cocemos?, en la que se invita a los padres al colegio a demostrar sus artes culinarias. Tienen que preparar una receta con su hijo y compartirla con sus compañeros de clase y sus familias. ■
The younger children also express their creativity. Children take part in the Nursery school activity ‘Let’s Cook Together. Do we knead or cook?’, in which parents are invited to show off their cooking skills at school. They are asked to prepare a recipe with their children and share them with their classmates and families. ■
