PROYECTO DE COLABORACIÓN SCHOOL-FAMILY COLLABORATION COLEGIO-FAMILIA EN SEK-SANTA ISABEL PROJECT IN SEK-SANTA ISABEL El proyecto PAMAS (Programa de Aprendizaje mediante Acción Social) busca, a través de la investigación personal y grupal, una colaboración entre colegio y familia para mejorar la noción del aprendizaje-servicio. Esta iniciativa se desarrolla en SEK-Santa Isabel desde el curso 2014-2015 y tendrá continuidad en el futuro, ya que mejora la colaboración familiar en el aprendizaje de los alumnos, ofrece nuevas posibilidades para apoyar la acción y servicio a la comunidad y sirve para comprobar la interacción de los padres con sus hijos. La Organización de Bachillerato Internacional (IB) premió el pasado mes de octubre, en su Conferencia Regional IBAEM de La Haya (Holanda), al equipo de SEK-Santa Isabel, representado por Lorena González Castilla y William Ivey, por la elaboración de este programa. Entre las fortalezas que se han observado en el proyecto, destaca la ampliación de relaciones entre el colegio y diferentes instituciones del entorno cercano. Además, motiva a los alumnos a aprender, orienta sobre su visión vocacional, fomenta el espíritu autocrítico, atiende a la diversidad, está orientado al desarrollo de las actitudes y habilidades del alumno, y da voz a los padres en el enriquecimiento y ampliación del currículo y en la realización de acciones concretas para mejorar la calidad de los servicios educativos. Todo ello relacionado con las Unidades de Indagación de cada curso. Q
The PAMAS project (Learning Through Social Action Programme) aims to foster collaboration between the school and families through individual and group exploration, to foster the notion of learning-service. This initiative has been run by SEK-Santa Isabel from the 20142015 academic year and is set to continue in the future, since it fosters family collaboration in students’ learning, offers new opportunities to support community action and service and served to assess the interaction between children and their parents. The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB) awarded the SEK-Santa Isabel team for this programme last October at its Regional IBAEM Conference at The Hague (the Netherlands), the award was picked up by Lorena González Castilla and William Ivey. The project’s benefits include extending relations between the school and different institutions in the local surroundings. In addition, it encourages students to learn, provides careers guidance, it fosters a spirit of self-criticism, pays attention to diversity, is focused on students’ attitudes and skills, gives voice to parents in the enrichment and extension of the curriculum and specific actions to improve the quality of its educational services. All of which is related to the Inquiry Units for each course. Q
UNA ALUMNA DE SEK-ATLÁNTICO GANA EL II CERTAMEN LITERARIO VIAQUA
A SEK-ATLÁNTICO STUDENT WINS THE 2ND VIAQUA LITERARY COMPETITION
La alumna del Colegio Internacional SEK Atlántico, Chiara Iannelli Álvarez, fue la ganadora del II Certamen Literario “Relatos de agua inteligente”, en la categoría de Bachillerato, con el microrrelato titulado ‘Inconcebible’. Al certamen se presentaron más de 300 originales. La entrega del premio se celebró en la Casa do Concello de Poio, en un acto presidido por el alcalde de Poio, Luciano Sobral, con la presencia de representantes de la empresa organizadora. Chiara, alumna de 1º de Bachillerato, estuvo acompañada por su familia y por el director del colegio, Jacobo Olmedo, y la coordinadora PAI, Mónica Azpilicueta. Q
Chiara Iannelli Álvarez, student at SEK Atlántico International School, won first prize that the 2nd “Intelligent Water Stories” Literary Competition, in the Baccalaureate category, with her short story entitled ‘Inconcebible’. The competition received over 300 original entries. The award ceremony took place at the Casa do Concello de Poio, and was presided over by the Mayor of Poio, Luciano Sobral, and was attended by representatives of the sponsoring company. Chiara, 1st year Baccalaureate student, was accompanied by her family, the school’s Principle, Jacobo Olmedo, and MYP Programme Coordinator, Mónica Azpilicueta. Q
