How to Use Email

HOW TO USE EMAIL 1


Let’s get started! 1. Press the On button to turn your computer on. Note: • Your computer must be connected to the Internet or be able to access wireless Internet access via a “hot spot”. • You “select” something by moving your cursor (the “pointer” you see on the screen) with your mouse by clicking on the left button of your mouse and pressing the Enter key on the keyboard or carefully double clicking the left button on your mouse. • If you get any pop-up windows simply select the “X” to get rid of them. 2. Select the Internet browser on your desktop which may look like one of these:

3. When the Internet window opens, select the address bar (on the top) and type an address for an Email provider like gmail.com. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

4. Select the Username field and type in your username. 5. Press the Tab key on your keyboard to go to the Password field. 6. Type in your password. Note: Make certain your Caps Lock or Num (Numbers) Lock keys are not pressed, as several User IDs and passwords are case sensitive. 7. Press the Tab key to take you to the Sign In button and press the Enter key. 8. To read email, select your Inbox folder or you may already be viewing the Inbox.
