The road less traveled is always the more promising, so why is it that as a nation we continue to allow the same behavior that nullifi es the idea behind our very founding: that all [wo]men are created equal? This month we celebrate diversity and inclusion, and that means more than simply saying the words. It means living a new truth and paving new roads that invite all communities of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, those with disabilities, and women into every conversation, business, industry, sector, and neighborhood. FIND Have you ever walked across a fi eld of wildfl owers and thought to yourself, “Damn, US that is beautiful”? Imagine how dull those fi elds would be without its sea of diff erences—the variety of color, shapes and sizes; fl owers growing with plants, trees, and ON blades of grass, all amid the authenticity thriving together. That is the world in which we live. It is beautiful because of its vast array of diff erences. SOCIAL We have to move past the narrative of the same broken path that got us to this MEDIA place of inequity. We have to be brave enough to demand systemic change, hold our government and public safety offi cials accountable, and demand our industry—media and cannabis—be an active part of that discussion through action.
