Diana Acevedo, Ph.D., was named one of the top 25 most in uential women in Science in Latin America by 3M. This award recognizes 25 women scientists who, through their work in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), are improving and impacting the daily lives of women. people and their communities.
Isaac Allred, Ph.D., welcomed his third child in October 2022.
Mackenzie Cremeans, Ph.D., recently accepted a faculty position with KU Geology. As part of this position, she negotiated the ability to maintain her geologic practice group at Shook, Hardy & Bacon, where she continues applying geologic science to various legal matters. Aside from this, Mackenzie was engaged to her fiancée, Kate, in late October, shortly after they closed on a historic home (built in 1925). Between house renovations, wedding planning, and chasing their three goofy cats, they are enjoying the (rampant) chaos and daily adventures.
Eryn Gerber, Ph.D., finished her Ph.D. in December. Just weeks later she moved to Aliso Viejo, CA to start work as a Biomechanics Associate at Exponent.
Sarah Mullinax, Ph.D., started a new job at Safety Partners as a consulting safety officer. She travels to biotech companies in the Boston area, helping them set up their EHS protocols and with safety trainings. She has always been interested in getting more into the regulatory side of scientific research.
Leila Joyce Seals, Ph.D., completed her Ph.D. in the fall of 2022. She will be a post-doctoral scholar at Pennsylvania State University, in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Her position is officially in the Department of Geosciences, and she will be researching and developing a contextual co-curriculum to support diversity and inclusion in PSU's geosciences field camp.
Tristan Yount, Ph.D., finished his Ph.D. in December. In August, he will be starting as a Materials and Corrosion Engineer for Exponent in Atlanta, GA. Until then, he is working as a postdoctoral researcher with
