Continue to develop (support) the Lee County hazardous materials team and ensure training and certification of current Fire Department personnel in Hazardous Materials •
The Lee County Hazardous Materials team was established during the last planning cycle, including the acquisition of HAZMAT equipment and the training of personnel. All fire departments in Lee County are involved in the effort, with the Keokuk and Fort Madison departments taking the lead role. Communities will continue to train personnel and purchase equipment as necessary.

Financial support for the team, approximately $70K annually, is expected to come from the City of Keokuk , the City of Ft. Madison, and Lee County Board of Supervisors.
