3XR Inc.

TELEPHONE: ADDRESS: INQUIRIES: WEBSITE:

416-850-5322 1701 Flint Road Toronto, ON M3J 2W8 1-866-590-7768 www.3xr.ca

3XR manufactures and sells AmRHEX®, a patent pending technology/machine that removes and recovers ammonia from flows where it occurs at high strength (400 - 3000 mgN/L) such as digester solids, dewatering liquor (filtrate), Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, or landfill leachate. Each AmRHEX® can process up to about 700 m3/d. The features which make AmRHEX® an attractive alternative for operators where ammonia (nitrogen) removal is mandated are the following:

• Low Capital Cost. AmRHEX® equipment costs much less than biological alternatives.

• Low Energy Consumption. AmRHEX® power use is about 1 kWh/kg N; this is 10% of the 10 kWh/kg N required for biological nitrogen removal (BNR).

• Carbon Negative operation. GHG mitigation of 10 tonnes CO2 per tonne ammonia fertilizer (N) displaced by employing AmRHEX®. In addition, there is no N2O released (a GHG released by BNR that is ~ 300 x as potent as CO2 and may contribute up to 90 tonnes of CO2 equivalent/ tonne N removed by BNR). • Profit Center from Residuals. Recovered ammonium sulfate fertilizer value is more than the input costs. Depending on the purchase arrangement, 3XR manages these residuals, and shares profits with the generating entity (utility).

• Small Footprint. Each modular, prepackaged, computercontrolled, fully automated, self monitored AmRHEX® unit occupies a footprint of approximately 3 m x 11 m, about 1/10 to ¼ that required by BNR. This is of great importance where ammonia removal is an added requirement to an existing plant, where the site is often built out and space is at a premium.

Clearflow Enviro Systems Group Inc. TELEPHONE: ADDRESS: WEBSITE:

780-410-1403 140, 134 Pembina Road Sherwood Park, AB T8H 0M2 www.clearflowgroup.com

Clearflow Enviro Systems Group Inc. is a full service company providing engineered solutions for water clarification (industrial reuse or release, waste water, sediment and metals removal), soil stability and erosion control and de-salinization solutions for both soil and water. Clearflow has spent the last five years working with National Research Council of Alberta and the Universities of Alberta and Guelph to prove products are environmentally friendly and can be used in-situ, allowing for release directly back into the environment, or for reclaiming water for reuse (Toxicity Reports are available off our website).

As these products and processes are site-specific and because we match our products to the soil and water chemistry of your area, cost and effectiveness are optimized. Our products can be used directly where wildlife is present and then all water treated can be immediately discharged to the environment. Our Process when used in-situ has been proven to remove phosphates, ammonias, organics, PCBs and heavy metals.

Clearflow has also patented several mechanical processes that maximize mixing, reaction time and product usage to allow for turbid water to be cleaned. Metals, Algae, Total Suspended Solids, phosphates, ammonias, organics, and PCBs are all reduced to optimum levels. Some of these patented processes, the PR5 Water Treatment System and the Bazooka in line water treatment system, allow for control of the flow rates and have a small footprint. These units have no mechanical parts, requiring only an external pump. Job histories are available on our website.

As well Clearflow has designed systems for the Saskatchewan Potash market to remove sediments and nutrient levels from the water to enhance the production capabilities of the plant. Clearflow has products and processes that answer to the following: • Soil Stabilization and revegetation

• Dust Control

• Sediment Control

• Storm and other effluent streams • Waste water treatment • Desalinization

Clearflow has recently opened an office in Regina, Saskatchewan as well. Contact is Greg Vogelsang at 306.536.8919

The environmental focus of Dagaz Environmental Inc. is the manufacture and marketing of the Little River Pond Mill® (LRPM) circulator for use in treatment of water and waste water.

The circulating action of the LRPM promotes natural remediation processes for the control of algae (and other nuisance aquatic vegetation), clarification of surface water, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, and the reduction/ elimination of odours and solids/sludge in liquid sewage lagoons and wastewater facilities.

The Little River Pond Mill is sold globally and our present markets include surface waters (lakes, ponds and water reservoirs) and waste waters (livestock, industrial – oil and gas, mining; commercial – chemical, food processing; and municipal). The circulators have assisted many agricultural, municipal, commercial and industrial holdings or companies to meet environmental standards in this area.

Dagaz tailors treatment to meet the unique needs of each client which may range from anaerobic and facultative to aerobic in-situ digestion of organics and the bioaccumulation of nutrient elements, or the simple act of circulation.

Our Focus:

• Resource Recovery – recovering clean, clear, bacteriafree water and nutrients from wastewaters and creation of commercial carbon credits;

• Wastewater Treatment – delivering economical packaged systems, specializing in certified treatment of municipal sewage and livestock manure; • Wastewater Perception – demonstrating how wastewater can be environmentally friendly and economically profitable.

EcoLibra’s core business is delivering an eco-friendly, selfcontained, packaged system that recovers valuable resources as it treats wastewaters. The system easily meets CCME regulations and is certified by ETV Canada, a globally recognized certification.

With expertise in multiple types of wastewater systems, the core wastewater system can be customized to treat multiple types of wastewater but specializes in the treatment of Municipal Sewage and Hog Manure. It has a tiny footprint that is scalable from populations of 100s to several 1000s. It also is resilient to extreme weather conditions and shocks due to rapid changes in wastewater parameters. EcoLibra also delivers certified wastewater and strategic business planning/consulting, system customization, system enablement over the web, maintenance, support and research and development. Ivey International Inc. is an award-winning environmental technology company with a commitment to provide outstanding products and services through the development and application of innovative air, soil and groundwater remediation technology. Ivey specializes in remediation technology development and provision to environmental consultants, environmental contractors and oil and gas companies to restore air, soil and water quality.

Absorption and/or adsorption (sorption) of contamination to soils/solids is the #1 reason most forms of remediation are slow, costly and/or fail. Ivey International Inc. has developed the Ivey-sol® Remediation Technology to overcome this limitation. As a result, we are able to clean up contaminated soil, water, solids and/or oil and gas wastes more rapidly and economically.

The Ivey-sol® Surfactant Remediation Technology can selectively desorb contamination, including: petroleum hydrocarbon, chlorinated solvent and heavy metals. In doing so, Ivey-sol® liberates these sorbed contaminants from solid substrates making them more: • Hydraulically available for extraction by pump and treatment (PandT),

• Biologically available for bioremediation (In-situ and Exsitu), • Chemically available for elimination by chemical oxidation or chemical reduction. Ivey-sol® case studies and client references are available upon request.

Ivey-sol® has several commercial and industrial applications including: soil and groundwater remediation, bioremediation, tank cleaning, vapour suppression, NORMs treatment, frac-sand treatment, and shore-line spill cleanup, among many others. On average, greater than 90-95% of small to medium size contaminated sites are remediated (In-situ) in less than 12 months. Our Ex-situ process can take just hours or weeks 32

depending on the Ivey-sol® treatment method and contaminants treated.

The Ivey-sol® products and processes have established a strong international reputation for rapid site remediation and reclamation, with significant time and cost savings for our project partners and clients. The School of Environment and Sustainability is committed to providing excellence in interdisciplinary environmental research and learning. This is based on a commitment to create and integrate multiple understandings of natural and human environments and to be internationally known for innovative, provocative, and wide-ranging approaches to environmental sustainability.

Founded in July 2007, the School of Environment and Sustainability was designed to offer graduate students a variety of masters and doctoral programs that emphasize the complex nature of environmental and sustainability challenges, and the need for interdisciplinary understandings across a range of topics. The school raises questions about how and which people and places are most affected by unsustainable practices, how our current policies contribute to (un)sustainability, and how Saskatchewan is placed within a global political economy. The school’s programs include:

• Master of Sustainable Environmental Management (M.SEM.): an interdisciplinary, course-based, professional-style program that can be completed in one year of full-time study. The program is designed for undergraduates seeking a professional occupation or for those with established careers who wish to expand their skill set. • Master of Environment and Sustainability (M.E.S.): an interdisciplinary, thesis-based program that can be completed in two years of full-time study. The program is designed to prepare graduate students for significant roles in knowledge generation and translation related to Environment and Sustainability. • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environment and Sustainability: an interdisciplinary, research-based program that can be completed in three years of fulltime study. The program is designed to prepare interdisciplinary scholars for leadership roles in advancing the understanding of Environment and Sustainability as a field of academic study. Ph.D. students will participate in critical appraisal, research analysis and synthesis, and knowledge generation and translation.

Through ongoing collaboration with the City of Saskatoon and a number of colleges and units from the University of Saskatchewan, the school helps develop and implement sustainability initiatives, and seeks to form new partnerships for research, teaching, and learning opportunities. Western Alfalfa Milling Co. Ltd. produces dehydrated alfalfa pellets that are used in the reclamation and remediation industries. These products are entirely plant based and are exceptionally balanced, making them suitable for a broad range of land reclamation and soil remediation needs. Our Alfalfa Green is a green reclamation product, which will: • Add valuable sought-after organic matter to your soil, facilitating a healthier and more productive soil environment.

• Act as a fertilizer, providing the soil with macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and sulphur.

• Encourage re-vegetation by significantly improving root and foliage biomass. Alfalfa Green enhances photosynthesis, allows for vertical movement of oxygen and moisture, assists in reducing hydrocarbons, and remediates the degree of compaction and aeration of soils. • Act as a primary boost to microbes allowing them to activate soil organisms that convert nutrients into forms available to plants, encouraging growth of healthy bacteria and fungi. • Give soil the ability to hold moisture and nutrients, creating a nutrient reserve, and works as a cation exchange amendment which results in good soil structure. This helps to stabilize the soil until vegetation is re-established.

• Significantly improve sodium uptake in chloridecontaminated soils making more nutrients available which results in earlier stages of plant growth and improved water-holding capacity of the growth media. • Remediate soil compaction and improve aeration, improving root function of vegetation.

• Buffer soil from chemical imbalances while maintaining a rich nutrient supply.

The manufacturing heat and steam process eliminates all weed seed viability while preserving the alfalfa’s nutrition.

SESAA is the Southeast Saskatchewan Airshed Association, incorporated in October 2005. We are a non-profit organization of public, industry, government, and non-government members. Our goal is to collect credible, scientifically defensible air quality data for the southeast Saskatchewan region, and to make this data freely available to all stakeholders. Our objective is to bring together stakeholders from all backgrounds to identify local air quality issues and to develop innovative solutions for managing these issues. Diverse stakeholder representation recognizes concerns specific to the region, and encourages solutions that are tailored to address local needs. The southeast Saskatchewan airshed encompasses an area of approximately 36,800 square kilometres. Our boundaries were established based on common history, meteorology, and funding considerations. Key economic activities in our region include agriculture, oil and gas, power generation, mining, and transportation.
