Crucially, we have been able to include in the partnership two non school government organisations based in the Netherlands and the UK specialised in public health and healthy schools, respectively. These member organisations play an essential role in providing the necessary expertise and knowledge required for an effective delivery of the project's goals

In essence this project brings about issues related to social inequality in the context of healthy living and wellbeing, two highly relevant, hotly debated global issues Over its 3 year course, HILS will enable a large number of young people across this partnership to explore a large variety of healthy living aspects, tackle a number of barriers to a healthier, longer and more fulfilling life HILS has been thoughtfully structured by combining methodologies which have been previously tried and successfully tested as well as by bringing a series of innovative ideas and strategies. The activities have been carefully designed and selected to suit the needs of young people across the partnership, by being both accessible and suitably challenging These activities will enable the students involved to learn in a progressive way which will lead to the planned outcomes There is a strong emphasis on students' leadership skills; HILS will empower young people to take control and be the main driving force in their quest for the full implementation of the project's results, which will in turn forge and develop their leadership skills and a let’s do attitude

In many ways, this project has the potential to transform the lives of a great number of young people, who seem to be trapped in a self-imposed vicious cycle of poor lifestyle choices leading to poor health, academic underperformance, lack of aspirations and ultimately, a shorter, less fulfilling life.

Opening words from the head coordinator on the first day of the online LTTA

HILS in a nutshell HILS (Healthy Inclusive Lifestyle through Schools) brings together 8 secondary schools from: Netherlands (Project Coordinators), Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Page 3

It is not by accident that this partnership brings together educational institutions from a vast variety of EU regions covering rural and urban areas, north and south of Europe, east and west, and most significantly, students from varying degrees of socio economic and demographic spectrums, as the project's ultimate aim is to robustly challenge the general perception that a healthy lifestyle and all the perks associated with it, is a privileged of children and adults from the wealthier 'side of town' Issue 30 | 234

Those three days we had great days! ONLINE LEARNING TEACHING TRAINING ACTIVITIES Nives from Slovenia We held a three day long online LTTA in February 20221 due to the pandemic and travel restrictions. This made it possible for all partners and students to meet as a group and carry out activities in smaller groups via Teams All participants were engaged in communication and activities during each session which were planned and executed successfully We also listened to presentations by students and professionals alike. 3rd - 5th February 2021 Page 5

All in all, the online LTTA left us with new ideas and skills, not to mention the opportunity to experience remote learning on an entirely new level.

We

"were also able to attend conferences organised by each of the participating countries, obtain the results of a major European survey conducted among students to find out the impact of covid on their lives Thanks to giant videoconferences, interactive workshops on self image and the dangers of social networks, and even a sports session took place! But the highlight of this event was undoubtedly the pastry masterclass conducted online by Pastry woman Chef Johanna LePape, world champion in the sweet arts, specialist in diet pastry. The 70 students were then able to cook together and follow a live recipe of vegan and healthy cookies" (French partners).

Page 6

Among the themes and topics were mindfulness and how covid has affected our lives and studying as well as changes the restrictions caused in our countries. We also had the chance to do some physical exercise lead by a professional in the field

Students' testimonials

"My experience on this Erasmus project with LTTA meetings was very different than my brother was telling the family right after he would come home from his trips with Erasmus I didn’t expect to see Paris or London but I still had a great time. I saw everyone from the comfort of my own room. This years project was quite different than any other Since the pandemic started most teenagers life just went from living it on full mode to living it in our rooms every day. On the LTTA meeting I learned that everyone has problems on their own I learned how to make cookies that I will make as a comfort food when my life goes the wrong way Experiencing making cookies with someone through the laptop screen was an amazing experience. It’s not just the cookies I made through the laptop screen we had a whole gym class with a very nice lady. The whole gym class experience was something new for me because in normal online school we don’t have an actual gym class with our teacher I really loved the presentation about social media mostly because of the lady that presented it whose name was Charlotte Gordon

She had something that not every adult has because she understood teenagers the way we understand each other. We didn’t just sit and listen to lots of presentation we had to made our own Everyone was put in a different groups and at the end of the week we had presentations what we talked and worked on. To top the whole week of we had a Kahoot quiz that has set the right mood for goodbyes I’m not gonna be telling you I wasn’t tired after these three days because I was The work wasn’t hard or stressful I was mostly tired of sitting in front of my laptop all day. The organization of the whole event was awesome, everything was online and easy to find I loved it "

"Those three days we had great days! We participate in online mobility LTTA, where were students and teachers from some European countries (Netherlands, Slovenia, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and Great Britain) On the first day of mobility we had one presentation and then we work in teams our presentation for last day The second day we started with doing presentation in the teams Then we had cooking workshop with Johanna Le Pape. We cooked healthy cookies They were FANTASTIC! Then we had time out and after that we had physical activity session. This was very active and funny! And then here was the end the second day The third and last day we again started with doing presentation in our teams. Then we had a presentation of mental health and well being together! After that we had presentations of every team. The all presentations were so beautiful and interesting And after that we had just one funny Kahoot quiz from students from Netherlands. I met new friends. I knew new cultures. I will miss all of them I had a really beautiful time! That was GREAT and FANTASTIC!" Nives, Slovenia

"I've decided to participate to the online mobility because the project was very interesting to me: meeting new people, students from diffrent countries sounded fascinating ! During the online mobility we worked on a specific topic from the HILS project: for me it was addictions (drugs, alchool , video

"For me participating in Erasmus was something to do because I met a lot of incredible people who all came from a different country They each shared their point of view, we discussed online of course because we were during the corona crisis, we all hoped to travel and meet everyone in person but sadly coronavirus was so elevated that we had to stick to online meetings. As for Erasmus, it is something to do because you support your ideas and share them with other students from all around Europe. All the activities were interesting and fun, and discovering things from each different country united all the countries almost like if we were one I would encourage all the future students to participate because it unforgettable this fantastic experience

But we also did some baking: we made cookies but not the normal cookies: healthy cookies without sugar ! We also did some sports but inside our classrooms I preferred making cookies as we are from a hospitality and catering school: it was really a satisfying experience for all of us !!! The most surprising thing is that I have some new international friends It was a lot of fun doing this project, we learned many things from each others, it was just unforgettable ..! France

"I think that this online event was such a great idea to get to know each other I learned to work in a team and to be more sociable I made new friends and it was really nice to work with them I hope that even if this 3 days project almost ended we still keep in touch."

"In my opinion it was a pretty fun experience Even if seeing each other in person would have been much better, I think that the experience overall was positive and fun. I had so much fun knowing people from other countries and speaking to them. The activities were also hilarious and constructive. I've learnt so many things during this project, not only to speak english better but also how to prepare delicious cookies. Hope to see you all again once we get past this worldwide pandemic."

"The project was well organized with interesting workshops , from the P.E. session , to the learning how to make cookies thanks to a French chef. Students have worked with enthusiasm , interacting with each other to create the review which was presented the last day by each international group It was a great opportunity for the students to speak English as this was the vehicular language : on the first day they found some difficulties in understanding each other, however, after the first day , they felt more at ease with each other The project has also given the students the opportunuty to learn more about the Corona virus and its consequences in the different European countries. It was also a great opportunity for us teachers to meeet again , even if on line, and exchange different view points. Hope to overcome this pandemic soon in order to start travelling again and make new experiences " Giuseppa, Italy

"I think this experience was one of the most interesting things I've ever done before So I thank all those who participated and organized this beautiful event And to my group mates: thank you all for being so kind and just yourselves! Hope to see you soon everybody!" Alessia, Italy

Attilio, Italy

I really enjoyed this experience and even if we couldn't meet physically, I think this was the best solution ever We all had the chance to know each other, but I personally learned how our lives are all different, our habits and our environment too Having an opportunity like this is not something that happens everyday, that's why I am grateful today I met very kind guys and we had fun working together and talking about our hobbys, our schools and our different cultures. Despite this amazing project, I really hope to start travelling again. Thank you all guys!" Agatha, Italy
