Remembering and Investing in the Future of Second Presbyterian Church
“What a relief!”
I’ve heard that statement many times from individuals or couples who have just finalized their estate plans. Having your estate organized and in order can be a huge relief and bring freedom from worry.
And there is something wonderful about knowing that what you have worked so hard to accumulate during your lifetime will not only help loved ones, but continue your support of your Church and organizations that do good in the world.
Estate planning is something everyone should think about—it can save estate taxes, and provide a gift that will be carefully managed and benefit God’s work through Second Presbyterian Church and other organizations.
An Estate gift to benefit Second Church can be simple and take many forms:
• A bequest in your will—an outright gift of cash, or a percentage of your estate, or residual of your estate
• Naming Second Presbyterian Church as the beneficiary of a retirement fund, 401(k) or IRA

• Naming Second Presbyterian Church as the owner and beneficiary of a paid life insurance policy
• Establishing a charitable remainder trust to benefit Second Presbyterian Church
• Investing in a charitable gift annuity that will pay income to you during your lifetime and then benefit Second Presbyterian Church
Whether you’re in the “thinking about” or planning stages, we are happy to answer questions and provide assistance. All undesignated estate gifts received by the Church are placed in the Endowment’s Building Fund for capital needs of the Church. Estate gifts may also be designated for particular Endowment Funds including the newly created Impact Fund that is unrestricted and supports community and the Church’s greatest needs. Named funds can be created within the Endowment for specific purposes for gifts of $50,000 or more.
