Sunny Pascal, half Mexican and half gringo, private investigator, barfly surfer, created by Mexican author Francisco Haghenbeck and now adapted to cinema and television by filmmaker Sebastian del Amo. His taste for alcohol and women turns him into a kind of extreme James Bond, who endangers because of his addictions. His human side is tested as he faces the most strange characters of Hollywoodland, and gets involved in the wildest missions. He is a great lover of cocktails, a beatnik, with beard stubble and that always wears a guayabera. His most distinctive features are the very Mexican sarcasm and humor that alternates with his coolness, a trait of his gringo side.
Features & TV Series The Adventures of Sunny Pascal is constituted by six novels and a series of short-stories. The project´s idea is to adapt the six novels into features, and the shortstories into a TV series. Each feature would be used as the pilot or Chapter 1 from each season.
Bitter Drink Released in 2006, Reedited in 2016
Beatnik detective Sunny Pascal is an expert at two things: cocktails and finding trouble. And when the filming of John Huston's The Night of the Iguana hits a few snags with its sexed up, star studded cast in a Puerto Vallarta paradise, producer Ray Stark brings Sunny in to chill out the set. But matters get tipsy when someone is found dead, shot down by a gun belonging to one of the cast members. Now Sunny's got to keep his Hollywood stars out of jail long enough for him to solve the case. But the trouble doesn't stop with murder. The Mexican mafia and local newspapers wage a tension war against the hedonistic Americans, and if John Huston has anything to say about it, Sunny's got to be the one to keep the show on the road. Only Sunny will be doing it his way: with a Martini in one hand and a Colt in the other.

The Tequila Case Released in 2011 Acapulco, 1965. In the last few months, the world was about to implode with the Cuban missile crisis and said goodbye to the two most famous and glamorous figures of the time, Marylin Monroe and John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The Tarzan heroe and swimming champion Johnny Weissmuller is resting in his hotel, Los Flamingos. The actor is depressed, nobody gives him a role. He needs money to pay his alcohol and the expenses of his new wife. And he has made business with the wrong guys as he owes half a million dollars to the mafia. Sunny has to take care of Johnny, protect him and resolve his trouble. He is sent to Acapulco by his friend Scott Cherries, a producer who wants to contract Johnny for a new TV show. But things are not so simple and Sunny will fall into a can of worms. There begins a race in the Acapulco bay where he is the man to kill. American spies, mafiosi, Mexican corrupted politicians, Cuban spies, and everybody wants his head . Sunny Pascal will meet up with stars like John Wayne, Frank Sinatra and Ann Margret. Acapulco was then the meeting point of many stars, but also a place to film (and rest). So that there was an important business issue to attract investments (also because there were plans to build casinos, a special need after the fall of Batista’s regime in Cuba and the collapse of American interests with Castro).

In this third book of the series, Sunny is hired by a Spanish producer exiled in Mexico, to find the grave of his former wife, from whom he got separated during the Civil War. Also a friend of his called Luis BuĂąuel asks him to kill Salvador Dali. He soon finds out that people in Spain have a really big problem when it comes digging in the past, particularly the aftermath of the Civil War. His investigation takes him to Almeria, where an Italian director is shooting a spaghetti western. There, he meets Sergio Leone, Lee Van Cleef, Klaus Kinski and, of course, Clint Eastwood.

While Sunny Pascal works for the Disney co. in Palm Springs and Los Angeles, an amateur photographer and aspiring actor called Sammy Davis Jr., takes the picture of certain people that want to remain anonymous. At first he thinks they must belong to the Cosa Nostra, but he finds out it has something to do with the assassination of Bobby Kennedy.
Atomic Cocktail to be released in 2018
In this fifth mission, Sunny Pascal is working as a bodyguard for an American actress at the Cannes Film Festival. He gets involved in an event known as The bombs of Palomares, where two atomic bombs were lost on the coast of Spain. Sunny is called by his father, who is a US Navy military, and with whom he as unsolved issues.
Tijuana Death Shot to be released in 2019
Sunny Pascal looks for Sal Mineo in Tijuana, as he has been doing drugs and mixing with a group of gay hustlers. On his trip across the border, he has an encounter with Gianni Russo, who is more of a mobster than an actor and James Caan who are looking for the lost treasure of Al Capone.
Short Stories Behind the Black Guy Sunny Pascal is hired by Sammy Davis Jr.´s agent to take care of a group of right-wing racists who follow him because he married a white woman in Acapulco. Sunny believes that those who follow the actor are this group, but he finds out they are people of Sam Giancana, the mobster friend of Sinatra, who is looking out for his buddy.
