You are invited to a Fairtrade Coffee and Cake Afternoon on from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in Trinity, John Street, Porthcawl. This will be a very special event, as there will be an opportunity to meet a Fairtrade producer from Kerala, India who is involved with the production of FT coffee and spices. He will be giving a short talk about this at about 3pm and then there will be a chance to chat with him over your ‘cuppa’. We are also delighted to announce that the Fairtrade Town Status for Porthcawl has been renewed for another two years. So please come and celebrate with Porthcawl’s FT Town Group by sampling a range of delicious FT cakes, coffee or tea. Tickets are ONLY £1.50 and will be available from FT Group members or at the door. Come and join us for a very interesting afternoon!

KPC Youth & Community are holding their 20th Annual Charity Golf Day on Fri 22nd June at the Grove Golf Club, Porthcawl. Team entry for teams of 4 is just £160 per team (or take advantage of our Early Bird offer of just £140 if paid by end of April 2018). Entry includes coffee on arrival, golf fees and a buffet meal following the round of golf, and entry into our Golf Prize Competition. Please come along for a great day’s golf and the chance to support a local charity! Sponsorship is also sought for raffle/auction prizes or £50 to sponsor a hole - if you can support us that would be really appreciated. MYSTERY JUDGE FOR FAIRTRADE ‘BAKE-OFF ‘ At Bridgend’s Fairtrade Festival, Carnegie House, Wyndham Street, 10am – 2pm. This is an exciting opportunity for bakers of all ages to get involved and help promote Fairtrade. So pop on your pinny’s and get baking. On the day, simply bring your favourite recipe along with your cake made with as many Fairtrade ingredients as you are able. Carnegie House will be open from 9.30am for you to bring your entry. Judging will take place from 10.15am (there will be prizes for best under 15 and best over 15 entry). The cakes/goodies will be used for refreshments at the Fairtrade coffee bar and the public will also be invited to vote for the ‘public’s choice’ for an additional prize. FASHION SHOW – HERONSBRIDGE SCHOOL The Friends of Heronsbridge School are pleased to announce that, following the success of last year’s event, we will be holding a Ladies’ Fashion Show and Pop-up Shop in the School’s Heron Hall (doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start). Once again, you will have the opportunity to try and buy High Street clothes at discounted prices (up to 50% in some cases) while helping to raise funds for the pupils of Heronsbridge School - all proceeds, other than the sale of clothes, will be used to provide facilities, equipment or treats for the children. KPC YOUTH CHARITY GOLF EVENT

COME AND HAVE A GO AT CARNEGIE HOUSE Come and join the party at Carnegie House this Easter at our Mad Hatter’s Easter Tea Party. There will be lots of activities and entertainment for all ages, including circus skills, Mad Hat making, Mad Hat decorating (bring along an old hat if you have one!), decorative Brooches and Bunting, storytelling and music. The event runs 10am-2pm. The event launches our fun-filled, inspiring Spring programme, which offers a wide range of opportunities for the whole community to get involved. You can develop your creative skills in our classes in art, languages, dance and drama; become part of the Carnegie House family with our circus group, community orchestra, Krafty Kids and PropShop sessions or simply sit back and enjoy some inspiring talks, demonstrations and performances from local heritage to cookery, gardening, poetry and music. Supported by Arts Council of Wales, Carnegie House is run by Bridgend Town Council and aims to widen access to participation in cultural activities for the community to help improve wellbeing.
