Seรกn Clancy Ireland England Open Instrumentation 2018 Instructions This piece consists of seven lines of music in which the durational structure is derived from the seven stages (safety announcement / taxi / take-off / cruise / descent / landing / taxi) of a flight I take from Dublin to Birmingham each week. Each line ought to be performed consecutively, and performers are free to sustain each line anywhere between the minimum and maximum duration indicated. One, or many players may perform this piece. Player(s) will need a stopwatch. Original clefs are transposable. There are a number of idiosyncratic notational devices used, mostly devised for me to perform on synthesizers. These may be translated or interpreted for your own performance in whatever way you see fit, as long as no harm comes to you, or another person. Indeed, these symbols (numbers etc.) may also be ignored. You may choose to perform this piece with or without its accompanying text projection. There are no further performance instructions.
