the voice God gave me

The revelation of Jesus Christ 1Peter 1:6-7 You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to be distressed by various trials so that the genuineness of your faith—more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire-may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

We are distressed: we experience various trials and spiritual refinement when we let our light shine in the darkness. This is to be expected! As eye-catching, and as beautiful as it is, refined gold is but a temporary thing … a physical element … a rock. It, along with the flesh, serves us for only a very short time this side of glory. The real prize that awaits the believer is eternal life. This “forever” with God is our reward for perseverance under difficult circumstances. God knows our struggle to praise, glorify and honor Him day in and day out. It is not easy to stay on track He remembers us when we fight the good fight in His name.
