Enhanced Gymnasium To Benefit Balbriggan Community The sight of cranes reaching into By Patrick Finnegan the Balbriggan skyline indicates @TheCountyLeader that an exciting new project, that will benefit the community of Balbriggan, is well on the way to completion. Purcell Construction are on site at Ardgillan Community College, developing a campus for up to 1,000 students at the school, and the building of an enhanced community gymnasium, which can be used by the local community, after school hours. Principal of Ardgillan Community College, Michael O’Leary told the County Leader about how everyone will benefit from this venture. “The facility, which will include an all weather pitch, a gym, crèche, meeting rooms and a large PE Hall, will be used by us during school hours and will be available for use by local clubs and the wider Balbriggan community after school and at weekends,” he said. The first stage of the development will see

Donabate Choir Seeks Members Local group, the Lambay Singers are a well-established popular secular choir based in Donabate and Portrane, with members from all parts of the North County. They are always on the look-out for new members to swell their ranks. They meet for rehearsal on Thursday nights from 8pm to 10.30pm in Donabate Educate Together, so if you like to sing and enjoy good choral music, the Lambay Singers would love to hear from you. The entire project is being funded by the Department of Education and the local authority. Michael O’Leary added, “The key for me is that the gym will be used by the local community. This is for the people of Balbriggan and it’s a big plus for both the school and the local community,” he concluded.
