Back to the Movies Magazine

INTRODUCTION Welcome to the first ever edition of the Back to the Movies magazine where we round up all of the news on movies we have worked on, people we have interviewed and film gossip for all to see. It’s now been just over a year since I set up Back to the Movies and what a ride is has been in the year 2012! It has had its ups and downs much like any other but regarding the films I’ve worked on and the people I have met and spoken to it really has been a year to remember. As we near the end of 2012, we have massed nearly 13,000 Twitter followers; our website is taking in views of 250-300 a day on average with one day in particular reaching in excess of 3000 views! Our YouTube page is nearing the 300,000 mark, and it’s all thanks to each and every one of my supporters, fans, friends and family for making this possible. This year has seen the introduction of some amazing films, both independent and studio produced films but the ones mentioned in this magazine are ones I’ve personally had the pleasure of working on in some way or other, whether it be straight from the very beginning or even the odd interview or advertisement. So I hope you enjoy the reviews and articles as much as I loved taking part in them. We hope that 2013 will be the start of big things for our page with some promising leads starting to develop as the year draws to a close. 2013 will be a year where we not only focus on the superb independent talents out there, but we will also venture into working on more mainstream studio films, bringing you bigger stars and bigger films in the months to come. Have a great New Years and we’ll hopefully see you in 2013!

Sean Evans CEO of Back to the Movies

An interview with Jeremy Bulloch

Jeremy Bulloch is the man behind the mask of the bounty hunter Boba Fett in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Back to the Movies first spoke to Jeremy in September 2011 and since then has been very kind and helpful in any projects we have worked on. Here is a very brief interview with the man himself. BTTM- How did you get the part of playing bounty hunter Boba Fett? Jeremy – My half brother Robert Watts was co-producer on Star Wars and he told me there was a small part and to get my agent onto it. BTTM – How has the role affected your life as it’s now one of the most popular film franchises ever created? Jeremy- It has only really affected me since the re-release of the films in 1997 when the interest was far bigger than when they were originally released. Since then the character of Boba Fett has become iconic and I have been invited to travel the world attending conventions, events and charity shows. BTTM- Other than Star Wars, you’ve been in many other films and TV shows, do you have a favourite or will Star Wars forever have a special place in your heart? Jeremy- Star Wars will always be special, but some of my theatre roles have been wonderful e.g “Dangerous Obsession” and “Arms & the Man” TV shows that I have really enjoyed are “Robin of Sherwood”, “DR.Who” and “Agony” BTTM- You are a very down to earth person, I know this from personal experience with speaking to you regularly. How do you maintain so down to earth when you have skyrocketed into every generation and still remain an icon and a Sci Fi movie legend? Jeremy- I am very calm, and acting is just a job – I have been extremely lucky to have landed the role of Boba Fett although it was a small part. BTTM- What are your plans for the future, are there any conventions that you will be attending in the near future? Jeremy- The best way to find out where I will be appearing is on my website www.jeremybulloch.com BTTM- With the Star Wars prequels now in 3D and the takeover of Lucasfilm by Disney what are your reactions to this? Jeremy- I haven’t seen the 3D yet but I look forward to seeing it soon, I’m sure it will be a great success. The Disney take over is superb! Especially with the young ones

Mindy Robinson was born and bred in Massachusetts, USA but moved to LA with the dream of being a film star. She has appeared in numerous comedies, horror films, music videos, and as a TV personality in a dozen or so major network reality shows. Such films as “The Haunting Of Whaley House” and the 2012 smash hit comedy “Ted” starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, along with various music videos such as LMFAO’s “I’m Sexy and I know it” and an upcoming Sean Kingston video feat Chris Brown. Back to the Movies caught up with the beautiful Mindy for a quick chat in-between filming.

BTTM- How long have you been working in the industry and what inspired you to start acting? Mindy - I've been in LA and acting for a little over a year now. I lucked out and replaced a principal actress on the set of Mansion of Blood while doing my first movie background gig. I've been working hard ever since and doing mostly horror movies, comedies and reality TV. BTTM - What are the main differences between being on set of an independent film (Haunting of Whaley House) and studio films (Ted)? Mindy- Money. I've seen so many independent film makers put their blood, sweat and tears into their movies to get the best effects, props and production values that their budgets can supply.... but if you take same incredible director and give him a butt load of money.... you will see costumes, and sets, and props of things you can only imagine!!! BTTM - You starred in the American version of "Take Me Out" What was that like and did you get yourself a date? Mindy- What I get recognized most from is being on that crazy George Lopez show all summer! No one saw the last episode apparently because everyone always asks me if I ever got a date, lol. I did, although the audience went crazy it was definitely a great TV moment. People were blowing up online about how he shouldn't have picked me but people stopped complaining after they saw that we actually had a good time on our date. I look like a bimbo but I'm actually a nerd. I think they figured that out. BTTM - What projects are you currently working and what do you have lined up for 2013? Mindy - Well, this year I had a lot of small or supporting roles in about 50 different movies, TV shows, music videos and web series... so I suspect that I'll be popping up pretty much everywhere. The Haunting of Whaley House and Killjoy Goes to Hell are out to rent already, American Lie is set to open up the Mockfest Film Festival, Chicks Dig Gay Guys, Lizzie Borden's Revenge, Bounty Killer, Bloodsucka Jones, Behaving Badly, and VHS 2, are some of the titles due out next year. For TV shows I'll be on King of the Nerds, Millionaire Matchmaker, Celebridate, Tattoo Nightmares, Guinness Book of World Records Gone Wild and dozens of projects in between. I'm filming three different movies and a TV show next week alone....I just don't want to stop working, what I do is just so much fun that I don't want to miss any opportunities. You can follow me on Twitter @iheartmindy and FB at www.facebook.com/iheartmindypage and my actor's page at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4535518/ and thank you Michael Bell at Alluring Vixens for the gorgeous pics!

Synopsis It is 1897 and a city is in turmoil. In the smoky, dirty depths of middle England, the people are terrified. The once bustling streets of Stoke are empty, the silence is only broken by the whispers of devils, demons and vampires. Poor souls are being taken, vanishing without a trace. When the local doctor is snatched away, word travels to his brother, a young vet by the name of Newlyn Howell. Spurred on to discover the truth by the enigmatic Alexander Pyre, Newlyn's dark adventure into the depths of Victorian Stoke begins... and what he discovers is beyond belief. Directed by Chris Stone a film maker from Stoke on Trent, Blood and Bone China is a dark horror film that goes back to old Bram Stoker depiction of vampires rather than the glamorised heartthrobs of those seen in the Twilight series. Blood and Bone China has a great independent supporting cast Rachel Shenton, who people may recognise from the TV show Hollyoaks, takes a lead role in this film alongside independent film actor Anthony Miles. There is a great chemistry between the two characters throughout and the mix of comedy and horror in the film add to a more endearing viewing experience. Chris originally made Blood and Bone China as a web episode series but the popularity of the online series has led to it being cut into one feature film. The film has won many film awards and accolades at various film festivals across the world. The camera angles are superb with great lighting and technical shots all thrown together in a professional set-up that gives the film a quality much higher than what a low budget film might suggest. Chris has done an exceptional job and we look forward to what’s in store for the future. This is one director to keep an eye on in 2013!

Six Degrees of Hell is a 2012 horror about six people and their lives are stitched together by a supernatural force that has laid claim to one of them. A Halloween haunted establishment is ground zero for a paranormal perfect storm inadvertently touched off by a seemingly random series of events. Starring Goonies star Cory Feldman as Kyle Brenner, the film looks to be a very successful horror with a strong cast. The film is directed by Harrison Smith who is behind the 2011 Tara Reid horror suspense flick “The Fields”. Back To Movies spoke to Harrison not long after filming had finished as we built up a strong online presence for the film, getting the word out and getting Cory on board to market the film to his worldwide fan base. As part of this marketing CEO Sean Evans gained an IMDB film credit for his contribution to the film and his name along with Back to the Movies will be featured in the credits of the film. Release Date: USA – November 27th 2012

UK – 4TH March 2013

Back to the Movies has been working on Girls Gone Dead for a while since its release with various cast interviews that can be seen on our YouTube page and we also have an interview with CoDirector Aaron Wells and Adult entertainment star Tony Batman. Here’s a little bit about what Girls Gone Dead is all about: Rebecca is set to spend her first Spring Break home from college with her old high school cheer-leading friends. As luck would have it, the group of six sexy girls have been granted the usage of a rental property in the Florida coastal town of Manatee Creek. However, they are soon to find out that their vacation isn’t what they had expected… Just down the road, in Daytona Beach; “Crazy Girls Unlimited” – a company famous for its drunken topless DVD releases – had been throwing a event for their latest video series. However, the shoot ended early when a killer, complete with medieval weaponry, showed up to end the festivities. Unaware of what has transpired at the “Crazy Girls” party, Rebecca and her friends decide to throw a Spring Break FreeFor-All but the girls get more than they bargained for when one by one the party-goers disappear. It seems an uninvited stranger has been literally cutting through the guest list straight from the party in Daytona. Girls Gone Dead is a film that never takes itself too seriously and combines the old school teen comedy styles of American Pie & Road Trip and throws them together with old school horror like Halloween & FrIday The 13th to create something truly unique and quite frankly, fun to watch ! The perfect combination of boobs and beer with added cameos from Beetlejuice, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Shawn C Phillips and Porn Star Ron Jeremy this is one film not to be missed! Back To The Movies had a great time interviewing the cast and just being able to work with such a wide variety of people, it was a great experience and talking to cute girls.. Well... It’s just all part of the job really isn’t it!

Check out Girls Gone Dead on DVD, also you can catch the film on Netflix and Itunes.

Name: Emma Holroyd Age: 22 Favourite Film: The Break Up Favourite Actor / Actress: Adam Sandler / Jennifer Aniston

Emma has known us here at Back to the Movies for a while now so it’s only fair we put this beautiful, young, upcoming talent into our magazine. Born in Wolverhampton but moved to Alsager, Cheshire at an early age, Emma is a photographer by day for a well known local photography company. It comes in handy that not only is she a photographer but also a part-time model, undertaking in various shoots around the local area. She happily jumped at the chance to be in the magazine as she follows the work we do and enjoys it. When we asked Emma what she thought about Back to the Movies she replied:

“I’ve known Sean for a while now, he’s a great person, and lots of fun. Also the work he does for the movie industry is amazing!!”

Back to the Movies loses its Studio Interview virginity! Written By Sean Evans

Since starting Back To The Movies back in September 2011 my dream was to always interview some big names from studio films, and with the news of a new American Pie film being made I jumped at the chance to speak to the cast and crew. As a huge American Pie fan since the very first film I got in touch with Jon Hurwitz, the American Reunion director who very kindly agreed to an interview with me, so we set up a Skype link and away we went. Funnily enough I wasn’t nervous in the slightest and it helped with Jon being so easy going. As soon as the interview went live I was followed on Twitter by Thomas Nicholas who plays Kevin in the first three American Pie films and returns as the character in American Reunion. Thomas Nicholas is in a band called TNB and they just so happened to be coming over to England as part of a special UK tour, so I gathered my things and headed off to Manchester to hang out with Thomas all night backstage and watch the gig. It was a night to remember and pushed me even more to carry on with the work I was doing as it was leading to me meeting the very people that I’d grown up watching on screen. In November co-director Hayden Schlossberg agreed to do a Skype interview also, so now I had both interviews with Jon and Hayden on my page for the world to see. Not only did Jon and Hayden direct American Reunion but they also wrote and directed the Harold and Kumar films. The guys know their comedy and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in 2013!

Reboot is a film directed by Award-winning director Joe Kawasaki. “Reboot” is a cyberpunk thriller with a story that focuses on 3 computer hackers, one of which is Stat who is a young girl who has woken up in a trashed apartment with an iPhone glued to her hand. The iPhone is displaying a countdown sequence that is processing various sections of computer coding. After speaking to her friends they rush to help her out and to unravel the mystery of what has happened prior to her waking up and what will happen when the countdown hits zero. The suspense in this film is superb, what happens at zero? Why is an iPhone glued to her hand? There are so many clever technological references that may or may not have been there on purpose. Our generations reliance on technology and having an iPhone glued to your hand seemed like a huge signal to how society is in modern times. I’m not giving any spoilers away in this review as the film duration is under an hour. Anyone watching this film will be shocked at how professional it looks for a fan funded independent, the camera angles are Hollywood quality with great movement, great pan shots and some superb aerial footage that give this film a very classy well made feel. The supporting cast do an acceptable job of holding up the main lead but its Stat (Emily Somers), who does a superb job of keeping the suspense flowing and the tension likewise. This film deserves to be shown on a wide platform as tech savvy people will thoroughly enjoy the references and even non tech savvy people will enjoy the suspense and professional quality of this very well put together film.

Two inexplicably coherent zombies awake amidst a zombie attack, and decide to take a road trip to find the one’s lost love, unaware they are being chased by the agents of a ruthless company with its own agenda. Deadheads is a Zomcom that brings comedy and horror together to form a fun to watch film with the gore elements thrown in there for you die hard horror fans. It’s a combination of Road Trip mixed with Shaun of the Dead and really is a must see for any horror comedy fans. Ross Kidder and Michael Mckiddy play Mike and Brett the two zombies that awaken in the centre of a zombie apocalypse, and they do a great job of keeping the comedy alive. Mike is on a journey to find his long lost love Ellie, played by Natalie Victoria but it’s not going to be easy, along the way they are constantly being chased by zombie hunters and encounter many obstacles along their path, but with the help of their new zombie friend Cheese anything is possible! This film never takes itself too seriously, even writing this overview my mind is blown by the sheer randomness of the film, and it’s nice to see a film that stands out from the crowd rather than the mainstream zombie flicks we see in the cinema as of late. Back to the Movies had the pleasure of marketing and advertising this superb independent film with various sneak peeks of trailers and interviews with Natalie Victoria who plays Ellie Masterson in the film, also an interview with Drew Pierce Writer and Co-Director of the film. The Deadheads cast and crew had to be the friendliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking too, helpful in every aspect. I really look forward to more films that Drew and his brother Brett are working on as they are set for great things in the future. Deadheads can be purchased online from all major retailers and is now streaming on Netflix!

The Event is a band from the UK in a city called Stoke-On-Trent. In 2012 they released their 1st album "Boom”. Fly Or Fall one of the tracks off their debut album has featured as Back to the Movies intro song for the past year, bringing in many comments from around the world on how good and catchy the song is. The Event cannot wait to see what the next couple of years have in store. They bring a new kind of sound to rock as a journalist wrote that "if you take all the best 80s rock band and mixed them in a blender with Rihanna you’d get the distinctive sound that is The Event” So on behalf of everyone at Back To The Movies we want to thank The Event not only for the good nights of partying rock and roll style but for providing us here at Back To The Movies with a great opening soundtrack that really kicks off our videos with style. You can buy their album off iTunes and check out their website:
