We can also produce silver gelatin prints, sepia, selenium tone prints and many more varieties. You need to see them to believe the difference. No other photographer in Asia produces this quality of prints for portraiture. Photograph you in Digital - Black and White and print on quality archival paper. This is an option for those without the budget for film prints and/or whom want their images to be manipluated after the shoot. Photograph you in Digital Colour - and produce colour archival prints. Sealey Brandt is without a doubt Asia’s most admired and appreciated family photographer. She is the most experienced as photography is in her blood. Digital gives a very different feel and can be very harsh and unforgiving on our skin. Photoshoping can be done on digital but I do hope you don’t feel it will be necessary when you view your images. I can show you the difference between film and digital prints when I see you pre shoot so that you can decide which you prefer to use.
The Prints /By shooting film we can create fibre based archival hand prints in the darkroom. This is the Rolls Royce of photographic printing. Sealey hand picks the right type of archival paper to print on and works very closely with her printer to make sure that the final print has the right exposures and contrast. This is an important part of the end result as different papers give very different results. Digital and colour will fade over time and it gives a totally different look and feel. A bit like a bottle of wine. Different grapes give us different tastes and quality. The Lighting /We don’t use your average flash units. We use ‘pro foto’ - the best studio lighting money can buy. The light source in photography is vital, knowing how to use it can make or break a shoot. You have to know when to take that image with the right light whether you are indoors or outdoors. The right light can help shape a person.
The Talent /This is something you can’t learn and can’t buy. You either have the eye or you don’t. If you want images that show the true essence of your family and children, you need a photographer that knows how to work with real people. We don’t need to take hundreds of pictures because Sealey has that eye and she knows how to get the best out people quickly. She knows when to take that image at exactly the right time. She plans her pictures, crops ‘in camera’ and there is no need for Photoshop because she gets people feeling so good you’ll love the pictures and won’t want to change them. the OPTIONS
FILM SHOOTS - Classic Prints /We place a high value on the quality of the work we produce. We use black and white film and our prints are created by hand in a darkroom as this is the best print production photography has to offer. Your prints are crafted on high quality archival fibre based paper. Each print is individually produced by hand by our master printer in Australia.
We choose to produce hand prints as the contrast of the black, whites and skin tones are beautiful and the longevity of a hand print surpasses colour and digital. Both digital and colour prints fade over time. If you frame them correctly and take good care of them, our traditional method ensures your prints can be handed down over generations. If you live in the tropics, we highly recommend air conditioning and dehumidifiers to help eliminate the effect of moisture on your favourite pieces of art. A constant environment is vital for their longevity. A 35mm image is not proportional to the paper size. The image will appear smaller and a white border will be present. This border is necessary so that when the framing mount is applied it holds down the print. Digital Prints are printed on a Hahemuhle Photo Rag/German Etching Paper and done by a professional photographic lab. This is an archival paper - exhibition quality print.
Signed prints are available but must be advised when ordering your prints as the border needs to be wider to fit the signature. You will then see the border of the print when framed. Alternatively, Sealey can sign the back of the print.
Framing through SBP is entirely optional but advisable as our framer knows how to handle your precious prints. Price on application on viewing of the prints.
Artist Canvas /The canvas we use offers a rich texture you can feel and see. Canvas prints are light and easy to transport. We use UV protected pigment ink so that the image remains. Because we value longevity, we choose premium-printing products that retain the brilliance and intensity of your image. We can advise on sizes matching your chosen images and space. Diasec™ /This process facemounts prints onto acrylic and because of the different light penetration and refraction of acrylic, the tones are more brilliant. A diasec™ mount usually has a high gloss finish. In this process as the print is sandwiched in between the acrylic glass, the result is a completely flat mount. The print is also resistant to ultra violet (UV) light because of the properties of acrylic glass. It is backed with aluminium and a brace behind so you can hang it on the wall.

Story Books /In addition to your prints, we can create a beautiful digital hand bound storybook. At your viewing appointment you can select thirty of your favourite images to go into each book. Sealey, along with her graphic designer will then spend two to three hours designing the layout and the flow of each book. These are digitally printed, bound by hand with a faux leather cover and it comes in a black box. They make a wonderful gift for grandparents or for yourself to keep & are available in: 6 x 6 (Square)- 30 pages 6 x 7.5 inches (Landscape) - 30 pages 8 x 10 inches (Landscape) - 20 pages
Extra pages are available except for the 8 x 10 inch book, (maximum 40 pages per book).
Digital Files/ At Sealey Brandt Photography we pride ourselves on producing quality and believe in retaining the copyright with the photographer - like a dress designer. However, we also understand that you want to show off your new lovely images so we can do the following for our wonderful clients:We can produce for you a disc of low res files for story books per 30 images from the book. or
If you choose not to print a book you may order the files by the image if we shoot digitally or in film. These are non printable images but perfect for Facebook, iPhones, laptops and emailing to grandparents and friends. High Resolution Images require a certain file quality depending on the size print you need.

Studio /I usually use my black background skin against black works beautifully. The consistant light source of good flash photography when used in a studio is important. Being in the studio also has air-conditioning which is great if you live in a humid climate. It’s keeps the energy going and the sweat away. The weather is not a problem so you are sure to have your shoot at the scheduled time.
Location shoots are more environmental portraits. The end result will show where you are as the back drop. If you have that special place you love or perhaps live abroad and wish to show a bit of the country then this is a great option and a more loose way of working. I don’t always use lights and my style of work on location is more documentry. If the weather caves in we will have to re-schedule for another time or wait until the weather clears, on the same day if possible. I will always do a weather check the morning of your shoot approximately 1 hour before we start and let you know if we need to change timing. Hot weather can be a hindrance and cause perspiration, so please take that into consideration. The time of day for location shoots is vital too. Early morning 8am starts and late afternoon light 3-4 starts are best depending on the country of the shoot.
Home Shoots are often decided on if you love your home and want it as part of the images. Whilst I will bring back-up lighting, natural light is best. If you have lots of glass this can be a problem as it causes reflections. We will need your address on the booking form. Making the Choice. Whether you choose studio, home or location makes no difference on the style of Sealey’s work. Whatever the choice, she will make you feel comfortable and relaxed.
