Despite the weather, our indomitable guide, Carter Craft, was so interesting that most of our hearty group foreswore the bus and hiked along in the rain so as to not miss out on his commentary. We were a wet and bedraggled group when we arrived at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Museum, where director Daniella Romano enthusiastically led the group on a tour of this gem of a museum.

The founding mission of the Society was to promote the preservation of historic ships.
